Thanks for this. I wish I had seen this before taking my 2015 Passat TDI to the dealer for a $1300 brake job. One question if I may, When I look at the front pads they do not look like that are touching the rotor closest to the axel. Is this normal? Are the pads wedged shaped to begin with?
@OEMEangg26 күн бұрын
Both inner and outer pads don't really touch the rotor. It is supposed to slide a little. The pads will squeeze together when you step on the brake. Hope that answer your question.

Two questions. What are your thoughts on removing the engine block drain when doing a coolant change?. Also, are there any specific bleeder valves that need to be open during the air burping process?
@OEMEanggАй бұрын
Personally, I don't think it worth the time and effort to drain 100% of the coolant. I didn't really look for bleeders. Even with cars that have bleeders (such as Hondas), I don't open them when "burping".

@OEMEangg2 ай бұрын
For a USDM 7th generation Civic, the code should be 5 digits. I suspect that the 8 digit code is the system's serial number. You bring the serial number to the Honda dealership and they will provide you the code. If you enter the code incorrectly 10 times, you will need to leave the system on for 1 hour. Hope this helps.

Hi! I’ve been researching how to replace the pads and rotors on my own, but don’t seem to see any guides for newer RDX models. I own a 2019 RDX. Would it be the same exact steps as the older RDX models? I understand this is a tutorial for an MDX but would it maybe be the same for other Acura models?

Most brake job are similar. Hondas and Acuras are very simple. Your RDX would have similar procedure to the MDX.

Check the toyota manual first, for the correct amount of oil . When you check oil when engine is cold it should be between full and 1 qt low. Not full. Reason being oil will expand when hot. So check it after engine is warmed up to operating temp. Turn off engine, The oil should be at the full mark then.
