A pudgy friend of mine was thown in with the factory crowd at a party way back in the day. Because he was overweight, they were very cruel to him. He bumped into them again at a disco and Truman Capote took one look at him with utter contempt, put his nose up in the air, and walked away. This was a shallow, destructive group. No wonder so many ended up dead early.

An inspiration to all of us in Beauty. Especially to those of us who used to work at companies that sacrificed product quality in the name of speed.
Quite honestly I’m shocked about her “why” to join Chanel. What she mentions can be applied to multitude of other brands. “Who doesn’t like Chanel?” or “everyone likes Chanel”… Really? Or “sustainability”… Really? Is this what Chanel is about? I get that it was a CEO role, she was the first female and not of the French origin to lead it. I aplaude her for that. She is double-triple first again. Great fit to her personal brand but I didn’t hear a single thing that would convey a genuine connection on a personal level with the brand and also, imho, an internalized understanding of what Chanel brand is all about. And where she wants to take it. To sustainable luxury? Just my take on it with all respect to her management and career achievements.

Her brand’s products are incredible. I’m actually wearing Westman Atelier as I’m watching this. The foundation stick I’m wearing is the best matching foundation I’ve ever found for my skin. And the blush really offsets my skin tone. Wonderful stuff.
