Runcam thumb pro w 4K. Make sure you purchase the ND filters with it! The ND filters make a huge difference. Use a piece of Gorilla Double stick tape to connect it to your helmet. Any 1Amp battery will work. I use a generic super slim phone charger battery pack. I also use a generic magnetic charging cable from Amazon to connect the camera to the battery. The magnet disconnects before I rip the camera off my helmet.

the thing with the helmet camera that the forwards/backwards switch for recording which seems very intuitive because you'd do it with the same motion as putting on and removing the helmet. the button on the thumb is not the same as you'll always wonder whether it's on or not, as the motion to turn on is the same as the one to turn off. (which is fine for a handheld camera but maybe not so great on a helmet)

That's correct the thumb Pro isn't waterproof, so I have to put it away when it starts to rain. It has held up with a little light rain though. I have the Thumb Pro set to auto record, and the light is bright enough for me to see in my mirror.

how terrible an idea would mounting the camera inside the helmet be?@@StasWright maybe to the side with some of the helmet padding modified a little bit? must be possible to put it somewhere where it's barely in the field of vision but still sees out through the visor

Late evening light is the best to get the leaf colors to pop. Good video. I wanted to ride today, but it kept raining.

Exactly, it is a great dasch camera after all. I have a problem with longer recordings, with automatic horizon leveling in Gyroflow. It's just that the horizon goes crazy sometimes and acts like a drunk. Have you also noticed this problem?

Great! The Strom is now at a little over 70k mi. It only has needed tires, brakes, and a chain. My wife and I have loaded the thing up with a week's worth of clothing and taken it from Pennsylvania up to Maine, down to Asheville, NC. Tons of weekend trips all over PA, MD, West Virginia, New Jersey, New York.
