  what are you actually doing to the contacts/pins?. are you using a sewing needle to straighten the contacts. some seem to be missing or have they been pushed down inside???

  Be careful with which one you buy, because there are two brands, the Foxconn and the Lotes that Gigabyte uses. Lotes is a bit more difficult to remove, but by first removing the front it is easier to remove the lever, after which it is easier to get the back off.

  what happens if you break one plastic from the back of the plastic cover when attempting to remove it from the socket? is it bad for cpu or motherboard?

  This video makes it look easier to remove the top of the AM4 socket than it is. Besides the three spots at the back, there are two spots on each side where the socket snaps on. There are narrow slots on each side where these can be very gently pried loose. Easy to break this if you are impatient.

  Hello, will this method of “removing the socket cover” work with previous versions of AMD Sockets? AMD3+ with a 9590 CPU... I have a few bent pins but I don’t seem to have as much access as you do to the pins?

  Somebody was stupid enough not to look at single AM4 installation tutorial. No way a man can make a mistake like that and he can later claim he is not insane. Easiest install ever.

  if only pins in socket are broken then there will be no display on monitor but everything else would work from coolers,gpu,start button...?

  How did it turn out? When removing cpu cooler it ripped the cpu out the socket making it loose. I too want to try this

  @@mauri11 Just remove the top part gently. make sure the lower part is still intact and the am4 socket is the same brand as found in your board
