  Dumbest decision. Only the corrupt politicians will benefit from the kickbacks they'll generate in this project. It will not make Philippines safer but will be in continues risk of military conflict with China. Philippines will be indebted to America and the Western nations forever. It will lose it's sovereignty completely. It shall remain in subordination to this countries. This administration without shame is selling off the philippines.

  Communist China (sorry to say) is being 'caught in the mouse trap." He could not escape anymore from world's condemnation; because of his arrogant and aggressive behaviour of grabbing the ocean (West Phillipine Sea); thus disrupting the peaceful maritime stability from that region. He arrogantly not following the United Nation law of the sea. He should be therefore isolated from the rest of the world. We have to "boycott" all Chinese products (though they are sub-standard).

  Why warships need to be built in the PI when you can build high speed, high tech long range remote controlled water drones equipped with high yield explosives for blasting any Chinese ships out of the water. Why resort to building new ships when you can deploy hundreds or thousands of drones to destroy those ships? Ridiculous that you're thinking as if you're still in the 2nd world war!!! We can automate these without so much of a fuss! Sensors built with AI, within the PI exclusive economic zones targeting Chinese vessels.
