    That’s the easy part. This was about setting up ya machine so it’s safe and prevents cross contamination. Cartridges are pretty straight forward pop them in and twist. Then do the opposite to take them out.

    Thank you for this! I just got out of my apprenticeship and bought my first machine (it’s a pen/wireless machine) and my mentor only had worked with a Kubin rotary, so I had no clue how to set up my new machine or zone. This helped me understand it while keeping cross contamination in mind! Very well done!!!! New subscriber achieved!

  • @dravenheart2444
    @dravenheart244411 ай бұрын

    Nope it’s a terrible machine to line with. Probably the worst machine I’ve used for lining but it does shade smooth. Even packing black with this machine is a stretch. I’d recommend a 4mm stroke or higher for lining anything. Especially using cartridges the membrane system creates a fair bit of resistance for a machine with a 3.5 stroke to pull a good line

  • @dravenheart2444

    Are you using the right size tubes for the needle ? As there all different sizes that could be a factor . Say if it’s a round 9 liner you need a tube for a round 9 liner. Also maybe try and put a slight bend in the needle in the middle so it sits flush against the tube and maybe a tighter rubber band. Hope that helps :)

    how do I relate the different shades of gray with the differences in size (small/medium/large) of the caps, for example if I have to make a dark gray in a 17mm cap, but then I happen to make the same dark gray but in a 14mm cap, how do I do it? obviously the drops of black will not be the same, because the size of the cap changes. I'm probably stupid, but it's a question I've been asking myself for quite a while. thank you very much if you want to answer me

  • @dravenheart2444
    @dravenheart2444 Жыл бұрын

    Nah I get exactly what you mean honestly I’ve never really thought to much about it cuz I only use the caps featured in the video I can’t be bothered using different sizes if it’s a big job I’ll just use two lots of the same mix instead of using bigger cups. But technically I’d still use the same method on different size caps 3/4 black 1/2 black , quarter black , then less then quarter black. Then when I’m tattooing I’d start using my lightest tone see how it comes out and how much I need to build it up then adjust from there. 90 percent of the time in most of my grey wash pieces on only really use black , and mostly the mid tone. Just build up my mid tone and make sure to whip it out smooth the other tones are just there if I need them really. You can do most pieces with a black and a mid tone just focus on technique , whipping and blending :)
