Luckily nobody is going to be forced to buy the Spyder RS. The roof is a hassle but really not so difficult as you make it look. The car is loud but that’s the attraction. Comparing it to the base Boxter is nonsense.

I totally understand the desire to have a radar/lidar detector installed. However, whenever you have a 3rd party cutting and splicing into your wiring harness, you risk unintended consequences. Your “Unluckiness” with your car(s) is very likely linked to this activity. I’m a bit surprised Porsche paid for diagnostics when the wiring harness was modified by a local shop. Please correct me if this is an incorrect assertion.
Porsche really designed the most complex roof system!
I had a '90 IROC-Z convertible back in the day and it was a manual roof and could be a pain in the butt as well, but that Porsche takes it all to a who other level! Why buy one like that would be my question, I'd rather just have a coupe! Happy motoring Nick! Cheers and say Hi to William!
This top is EXACTLY the reason why I would stop with the GTS 4.0 and not get a Spyder or Spyder RS

Glad to see you're still with us Nick. That top combined with no manual = no way ever. The Speedster top looked faster than my Targa except for the getting out of the car part.

As a 718 Spyder owner it was comical to watch how much more complicated the Spyder RS roof was than mine. But I was also fascinated at how easy the Speedster roof was compared to mine. 718 Spyder base roof gets easier every time you put it up or down - 35-45 seconds max. Different than most I love the manual aspects of it. Adds to the charm of the car. Cheers!

No offense, but that's a way to make a relatively boring video on the Spyder GT4 RS; go into extensive detail reviewing how to lower/drop the top etc. Make a decent "tutorial" video though. Imo of course....just saying

Porsche is basically laughing at their customers with these insulting prices, and that roof design is downright absurd. I am falling out of love with Porsche over shite like this.
