Hi everyone! Welcome to the channel! Thanks for stopping by. This channel is just me sharing the things that I've learned and am still learning about soap making and homemade personal care products. I've been making my own products for over 10 years now. I'm a natural born teacher and have spent the bulk of my adult life teaching SOMETHING to someone; it makes me feel happy to share knowledge. And because I'm a natural teacher, I like to talk...a LOT. ;-)
Thank you for stopping by! And remember, YOU. ARE. LOVED.

What is the name of this calculator
Thanks!
Hello, do you have any suggestions on how I can get a contract drawn up for me to white label my products?
Finally a review of soap-calc which doesn't make me want to stop making soap altogether (lol). Thank you!
1 more question if i add some pumpkin to a recipe how do i calculate that is it whatever it measure you subtract that amount from the water
Very nice voice and understanding....my question is i notice on some recipes you look at and put in the soapcalc they are different is it because maybe the calculator has changed and i was practicing with entering recipe in and some are diffrent from whats on the paper
Great Video I appreciate you sharing!!!
Thank you very much . I am Hassan from Syria
Thank you for this indepth overview.
Thanks for sharing this ❤
Looove this! Needed a new method of tracking my COGS! Question: since FL OZ & OZ has a different weight…. do you calculate your liquid oils in FL OZ and your butters/powders/clays in standard OZ? -or- do you calculate all ingredients in standard OZ?
Did you ever make a video about the water percentage. I did mines at 38 then some one told me its too much i should do 33 percent
Great. But I wonder how come the suggar does not disolve?
Great question! Due to the water content, the sugar will generally start dissolving after sitting up for a few months. Because there's so much sugar, a bit will still be left but much of it will dissolve into a syrup like consistency in the bottom of the container
@@TheElementSoap Okay I understand now. Do you think it is the difference if I use emulsifier for example polysorbate 20, or add liquid soap?
Love it 😅
Thank you. This was definitely one of the better videos on lye calculators.
Super informative and thank you for breaking the information down! I actually understood the information, whereas other videos were just like, "click here, do this, enter this info here." You actually explained the why and I really appreciate that!! ❤
Thank you so much for this information. I appreciate you walking us through the whole calculator and explaining each section! It was extremely helpful.💚
Thank you for this very detailed video. I just started making soap and it went well but I wanted to learn more than just the recipe I have. I chose to put all sorts of oils and yes they did work for my skin but for selling, I have learned to minimize those oils due to cost :)
Another awesome informative video. Thank you Greetings from Miami 😅😅
Hello I'm a new subscriber, and want to say thank you for this very detailed informative video. I'm just getting up the courage to make my first batch of cold processed soap. And I ran across your video on my last detailed item 😂😂😂 I got it now
Please, please stop swirling the pointer on every page and all over the place. It does not help. The viewer gets dizzy following the pointer. You cannot listen, read and follow the pointer at the same time.
Thank you for watching & commenting! My brain likes the pointer but I was totally unaware of that perspective. I will keep that in mind for future videos! ;)
@@TheElementSoap the pointer is called a pointer for a reason .-) [btw: you don't need a hidden formula to round a number. Two options: Select the range of numbers you want to affect, (1) on the "Home" tab click on "Decrease Decimal" (a small icon above the number tab) OR (2) on the "Number" tab choose the option "Number" then choose the number of decimals and Bob 's your uncle. ]
@@brunowalther275 Thanks again! I stumbled through teaching myself Excel. That's very helpful!
We can apply for laundry soap?
You can if you are making a bar soap that will be used for laundry.
Thank you for your expertise!
Love 💘it thanks so much.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
You're a life saver❤
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful!
New subscribe tapping in from Dallas also . I'm definitely interested in learning thanks ❤
Hi! Thanks for watching & subscribing! 😊
Very clever. Love it.
Hi! Thanks for watching!
Love it thanks so much
Hi! Thanks for watching! I'm glad it was helpful.
What did u mix with ur lye . The white powdered stuff
Greetings! My apologies for such a delayed response. My recipe is a dual lye recipe. It uses both Potassium Hydroxide (Liquid soap) and Sodium Hydroxide (Solid/Bar soap). I started adding sodium hydroxide so I could naturally get a slightly thicker liquid soap without needing any commercial thickeners. Hope this helps! ;)
Great explanation! Thank you!
You're very welcome! I'm glad it was helpful! :)
I think i just found my soap mentor.
Imma try making my own. I used a book but they had too many oils and fats and it cost too much to buy. Imma just use the fats i usually have. At home
Hi! Thanks for watching. You can absolutely use the oils you already have at home. Just make sure to always run your recipe through the soap calculator as each one has different saponification values.
@@TheElementSoap thanks
tysm for sharing your labels.. what a gem of a find here!
Hi there. Thanks sis. This was very informative, detailed and very concise. Quite helpful. I am a black American living in Africa for 2 years now. I own a company of 8 years that specializes in natural hair and skin care. Wanted to try my hand at soap, but felt the market was oversaturated in my state, back in USA. I am now so happy to be pursuing this on African soil and filling in a much needed gap in the natural product industry here. I have been doing a lot of research to make the shift to soap making and this video helped. Best to you and thanks again.
You are most welcome!
Your videos for soap label making are amazing! thanks so much! I just have one question- I want the top and bottom of my soaps NOT covered or wrapped with the paper so instead of the .75 in. For the top row do I put 0 in.?
Hi Sophia! (I forgot to greet you in my first response! Thank you so much for watching and asking questions! If designing a cigar band style, You can fit maybe 4 per page and make them each 2.25 - 2.5 inches tall
@@TheElementSoap wow thanks so so much for such a quick response!! I’m literally following your video step by step as I’m new to this and not familiar at all with creating labels on word doc. Should I create my table with 5 columns and 4 rows? Also, in your video (minute 1:24) when you talk about the height for the first row do I make it 2.25-2.5 in. tall? My bars of soaps measure 3.37 x 1.62 x 1 in. 3 3/8 x 1 5/8 x 1 in. Thank you again for your help!!!
What paper was this ? I'm using A4 sheets while it's work?
Hi! Thanks for watching! This is with US letter size paper. A4 is a similar size, but slightly more narrow and longer than letter. It can still work with A4, but you'll need to adjust the margins a bit.
@@TheElementSoapI didn't saw any video like this in the youtube thanks sis. God bless you!
Hello, Thank you so much for making this detailed video. I’m thinking about making soap but was having second thoughts because I didn’t know what to do about measurements and was confused every time I watched a video about it. Thanks for giving me hope that I can do it.
Hi! Thanks for watching. I'm glad this was helpful. It can be intimidating in the beginning, but learn about lye safety & give it a try.
Can I buy some please
Hi Tanya! Thanks for watching! Currently, we're not in production for public orders, only bulk & private label. Hopefully we'll be able to take individual orders again soon!
Tq for sharing.. Very benefit for me.. Tq so much❤❤
Thank you for watching! I'm glad it was helpful!
which printer did you use to print that paper please
Hi! I I've used HP color laserjet printers exclusively for about 10 years now with no bleeding or smudging. The model I use is HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP m281fdw but I don't think they make it anymore. www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-m281fdw Save your labels as PDF, open Adobe Acrobat Reader (free version). Go through print properties & set it for label paper. It heats the toner to a higher temp so it fuses with the paper better.
Awesome video! Just subscribed
Thank you so much for watching!
Can we find TFM using this?
Hi! I'm not familiar with that acronym. What is TFM?

Thank you so much this helped me so much !!!! ❤
Hi! I'm so glad you found this helpful! <3
Which paper r u using
Hi! I was using 100% cotton printer paper. But you can use regular printer paper to save more money. This is the paper I used: www.thepapermillstore.com/southworth-business-and-legal-100-cotton-white-paper-8-1-2-x-11-in-20-lb-bond-wove-100-cotton-watermarked-500-per-ream.html
Thank you, very informative and easy to follow
Hi! Thanks for watching & commenting! <3
Hahah I love it 🥰
How do you compensate for the oils we buy are sold in fluid ounces and the soap we make is in pound ounces? Or doesn't that even matter/ I may be just splitting hairs here.
Sorry about the delayed response. I calculate my production costs using a spreadsheet. That calculation is the foundation for determining your prices. Here is the link to purchase the pre-formatted spreadsheet...just input your oil costs and it calculated for you! www.etsy.com/listing/1085928096/soap-supplies-cost-tracker-worksheet?ref=listings_manager_grid
I just asked the same question because FL OZ and regular OZ has a different weight in grams! I don’t know what to do 🥴
