    I'm in the market for a fishing kayak and am liking this one a lot. It has a lot of future modification potential, and even with a paddle it is decent according to reviews......

    Dear Matt, I have a bite fd and been thinking about rigging a torqeedo on it. Do you think the 1103ac would work well or it might be over powered ?

    As a fly fisherman I wanted a smaller profile foot pad for my trolling motor foot steering to reduce snags when fly casting. I used the Yakattack 90 degree adapter as the foot pad. The Yakattack Mighty T-bolt fits into the Jackson Kayak foot rails when oriented perpendicular to the rail. I made a small shim out of starboard with a notch to hold the T-bolt vertically. I finished it off by screwing a piece of 1/4” starboard and used 3M tape to glue a piece if EVA foam to the pad. This lower profile foot pad is about half the size of the stock JK foot pads and could also work to provide clearance for foot steered trolling motor on a pedal drive kayak.

    Just now seeing this vid. I've used those Owner hooks for years. Only one I've found where the eye of the jighead is positioned to act more like a weedless Texas rig vs. a normal jighead. Love em.

    Sir, I know you are busy, and probably dont have time to answer and I get it with as many subs as you have you can't answer them all, However I want to ask anyway. I have been looking at this kayak and another brand. I currently own a Jackson 14 Cuda, it is a 2011 model and I love it, however, I am looking for something a little more fishing friendly and peddle drive. I would also like to take my pup with me from time to time. If you by chance have owned a Cuda, I know it's older, how is this in comparison to the stability of it? I am originally from Oklahoma and now live in East Texas, so Caddo Lake and lake of the pines are both about 30 minutes from me, both lakes have challenges from lots of timber just under the water and the other lake is full of Sylvania and another aggressive aquatic plant Lilly pads. Im curious how it handles on the lakes and how hard it is to paddle if a guys need to paddle to get out of some of the trees or salvania, I dont plan to paddle all the time, however, I know it will probably need to happen from time to time. Thanks in advance sir and keep up the fun videos, this one was very informative. I did a couple of fishing tournaments back in Oklahom in 2011, 2012, I can see myself trying to do it again next year, hence the reasons I am looking at another kayak. Thanks again. dale

    I’ve got a 2019 big rig HDFD, Kaku Zulu, and a 2021 coosa HDFD. Selling the big rig and coosa and getting a knarr to rig out! Love several of your ideas and will be using them when I rig up the knarr! Thanks for the videos!

    Hey, Matt. What size T-Bolts did you use for the 90º mounts on those foot controls? And what 90º mount? YakAttack has a few variations. Finally getting ready to rig the Knarr and I really like this setup you have here. Thanks, man! =)

    Knarr is kinda like the old bigrig width wise, the new knar looks good but i have the pedal drive bigrig at 40 inch wide super stable and i dont think i would want to give up the channels on the side to store baits, pole etc. agree its like a jon boat but standing with boat waves it is the most stable boat i have been on. Glad they kept the retract prop as it is a breeze to clean out of weeds n such. Enjoy your new ride but not enough to get me to change out my bigrig.

    While there is lots of great rigging here and some cool ideas, I can't help wonder just how you'd re-enter in deep water if you ever needed to. There is so much gear on all sides that there is no easy entry from in the water.

    Hi, First time long time hopefully, enjoyed your video, I am in the market for a fishing Kayak and looking at Jonny Boat, Bonafide and Hobie. My question is, when you first purchased what made you want to by the Big Rig Jackson vs the others out there and did you consider any other kayaks before getting the Jackson Knarr? Appreciate your feedback!

    Awesome presentation. I have a Bite FD. One question. I don’t have a torquedo. So my question is, why is secondary torquedo steering necessary when there is rudder steering for the kayak, because it’s an FD. Why not just fix the torquedo in the straight position and steer with the rudder.

    Awesome rig! How does the Knarr handle the weight of your tournament gear on the water with the lower weight capacity compared to the Big Rig HD FD? Would love to see some footage of you on the water with that rig, thanks for the great content!

  • @jamesnguyen5248
    @jamesnguyen52482 жыл бұрын

    Good question. I sold my Hobie and was going to buy the Knarr. But now I have to wait to know more about this before buying it. Per the numbers on websites, the capacity of the Knarr is the same as the Hobie Outback = 425 lbs.

  • @rickyjuelg414
    @rickyjuelg4142 жыл бұрын

    @@jamesnguyen5248 The Coosa FD has a higher weight capacity than the Knarr, at 450 lb, and of the JK fishing lineup with the Flex Drive, the Coosa is the leader in capacity? When they cut the width from 40" to 37", they cut the weight capacity from what the Big Rig was at 550lbs to 425lbs. Not sure if that was a great trade-off for a little more maneuverability, fixing the rudder would have been enough, IMHO.
