1:18:00 I’ll admit I couldn’t stop chuckling when Largo was giving his speech talking about how “ Our hearts are bigger than our feet!” I kept thinking “Yeah! Unless you slow down slightly!” Then you’re wolf chow!”

The Necromancer part of these movies is something that gets mentioned in the books, I forget if it’s in the movie version of the council scene in Fellowship. It’s theorized by Gandalf that Sauroman had been working with Sauron for a good while, that him dismissing the Necromancer’s presence was explicitly a ploy from him to delay the council from learning of Sauron’s rise. The climax of that arc does kinda suck though because yeah no Gandalf *SEES THE DAMN EYE AND DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY PANIC AND ACT WITH THE RANDOM NEW RING BILBO HAS*

Why doesn't Disa have a beard? Dwarven women have been well established in the Hobbit and a line in the Two Towers to have beards

It was always my opinion that dwarves were very hardy physically but mentally very susceptible and fickle, so Thorin was very weak to both dragon/gold sickness and the thrall of the Arkenstone. It was an issue as soon as he got anywhere near home. It probably also has to do with having “King’s blood”; I always thought it would be interesting if the royal dwarves were slightly inbred like many royal families.

I just realized; the Rebels must've been aware that the Imperium's scanners couldn't detect anyone hiding underground, or wouldn't bother to check unless they had a reason to. Otherwise they wouldn't have gone to the trouble of digging a tunnel network in order to ambush them. This means that they had a way to hide their women and children, by digging another tunnel for them to hide in somewhere else, and didn't think to do it. Also, why was Nemesis the only person in the long house protecting them? You've got an entire village full of people fighting to save their homes, but could only spare a single person to protect their loved ones? If the rebels thought protecting the women and children was important enough to keep one of their best fighters off the frontline, I'm pretty sure they would've put a few extra guys in there with her as back up.

The orcs one I can actually explain. Orcs can survive in sunlight no problem but have low stamina and are much stupider than goblins. Goblins are smaller, faster, can run longer but cannot be in the sun. Saruman bred them to get, big, strong, mobile in the day orc traits but also fast, intelligent and have endurance like goblins

Good fucking God, the Scargiver. It took me about a month to sit through the first, and that one I was laughing at cause it was hysterically bad at times. This one I watched fast because it wasn't goofing off enough so it was easy to just keep it playing and you wouldn't miss unintentional fuckups in the intricate ways they were in the first. It was just a lull. Like watching an a-hole injecting himself with heroin and lay there tripping for a while. Booooring. No funny ugly aliens manhandling beta males. No spider-women. And for the love of fuck, can someone please edit fan-edits of all Zack Snyder movies to remove/speed up all the slow motion?

There comes a time when a true visionary makes a story so incredible, so wonderful, so beyond our normal mortal scope that few can truly appreciate the intellectual mastery of it. This is not one of them. In fact, it's sad that so many actually good ideas and stories get sidelined only for reconstituted grease slop like this to get multi-million dollar movies made for them.

2:13:00. The raven in question is speaking Westron A.K.A. English and is called Roäc. This is not mentioned in the movies, however it is made explicit in the book.

they have infinite power producing gods trapped in their ship? along with small battery storage efficient enough to make lasers functional weapons ... why are they burning coal? what part of the ship and empire, if you have those two things, still needs coal? does their god eat coal to produce that power? is it a hungry god? i guess that would make coal a more efficient powersource i guess... but im stretching hard here

19:13 I'd like to point out that, for those who care anyway, 380mm guns _would be 14.9 inches in diameter._ So that's some genuinely big firepower being thrown around Danger Close in Helldivers 2. Also not a mini-nuke but it may as well be a shell from a New Mexico, New York, Kongou, or some other 14" carrying ship... Although given the size it's closer to Bismarck's 15" guns given that a single millimeter would be all it takes to tip the scale into the next size up.

I highly recommend the M4 fan edit of the Hobbit aswell; 1 movie focusing entirely on the book, cutting out all the fluff and useless extra characters (or reducing them to unnamed, non-speaking roles). It pleases me to no end that buried in the (extended) Trilogy there is an actually good cut and the maker of the M4 has delivered a truly impressive feat. Also: this video is an awesome and accurate autopsy, massive respect, it was informative and entertaining from beginning to end👍

you were spot on with your interperation on why smaug didn't immediantly wipe out the town, in the book we get a look inside smaug mind when attacking the town and what he planned on doing was to drive all the people into their boats trying to escape the town and but everytime one of the boats got to shore he would swoop down and either kill the people in the boat or scare them back into the middle of the lake, he wanted to have the people choose between dying to dragonfire trying to flee from the lake or die to exposure out in the middle of the lake with limited food and ways to keep warm at night. He had planned to kill them all over the course of a week swooping down on the people in the middle of the lake everytime he got hungry. He didn't just want to kill them, he wanted to torment them

To be fair, the government of Laketown was corrupt ended unjustly arrest them and if I remember accurately, they were promising them money from the treasurer to basically let them go when they kidnapped them. It’s like a slave saying I’ll send you money if you send me free. A lot of the normal people are innocent and we’re still hurt so it makes sense to help them. Negotiating because you were falsely in prison and they’re not gonna let you go. I don’t blame someone for not holding that word.

A problem with the troll scene (even in the book) is that the time taken to cook and eat the dwarves would have taken them past dawn anyway, whether Gandalf split the rock or not. The trolls have lived their whole lives knowing they would turn to stone in daylight. They wouldn't start cooking outside the cave just before dawn.

Meaning is as meaningful as you mean it. Regarding knitpicking; yes, one can see the same thing, no matter how trivial it is, and yet give it morebcredit than what even the author/artist had meant. But that's exactly what makes a good work of art or directing movies/screenbwriting or literature; the maker made it so it intrigues and draws reactions.

Oddly, now that you mention it, Dr. Mundo actually IS in Arcane. He is still in pre-Mundo form. He is one of Silco's Blonde goons who keeps licking things (Knives, Heads, Fingers, etc...) Sevika finally gives him a look of disturbed disgust in EP9. This is a prelude to him being committed to an experimental hospital masquerading as an asylum (per his lore), where one of the experiments results in his Dr. Mundo form.

I'm loving these breakdowns and have them on in the background of my office when I'm working. For the Vi not knowing about Jinx thing, I think I also chalked that up to people just not being that specific about something psychotically and criminally violent happening to them, coupled with possibly a bit of shame in getting threatened or curbstomped by a 90 lb teenaged girl. Other factors were that Powder didn't magically become excellent with her builds right after episode 3, so she would have had potentially years with Silco being groomed to her status as his daughter/enforcer, but not been a scary fixture in the undercity yet. It might also cause confusion that Silco's top two lieutenants (as well as a seemingly powerful member of his inner circle whose son was killed by Jayce) are female. So if you aren't trading names, and you cross Silco, and then get the snot beaten or shot out of you by Silco's second, it could cause some confusion as to whether "she" means Sevika or Jinx. Even if you qualify them both as psychotically violent, while *we* know that Sevika isn't psychotic, someone she's beating into a coma with a shimmer enhanced prosthetic arm for crossing Silco may not get the distinction. Honestly, for believability, I found it worse that she didn't appear to know that Sevika had a robo shimmer arm when she kneed her in the face, and I would think "robot shimmer arm" would be more of a talking point than "blue hair". I think if I were in prison and even being perfectly honest about some absolute psycho waif with a hand built tommy gun popping off, hair color and name wouldn't really top what I'd be talking about. More the psychosis, inappropriate laughter, maybe even her tats. Plus, I'm not sure how well known it is, but Silco is showed using countless children both as workers, fighters, and hostages, so "psycho teenager who works for Silco" likely doesn't remotely narrow it down, since prior to Vander giving him emergency skull surgery, Deckard was also a psychotically (post shimmer) violent teenager who works for Silco.
