Spray painting for beginners. We show you how to fix and paint your ride on a tight budget or a loose budget, in your back yard or in a spray booth.
I also do a lot of custom painting like Candy, Crystal Effect, Chrome paint, masking, metal flakes and more..

Wow you did that whole vid without blinking. 😂🎉
Gotta get this guy back in your videos Dave!
11:20 Miss spelling CUSTOMSPYAMODS 🎉😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 hahaha
For some one in the automotive spraying industry around all these chemicals, your skin is immaculate mate. You look like you have a easy, clean job working in a office all day.
My favorite part was seeing the final result
How the hell did you not get overspray on the car with out covering it with something?
What would this look like if it were sprayed on a silver or white base coat?
I have an 89 Celica with a plastic rear bumper filled with styrofoam. Do you have a relevant video showing how to repair and spray the crazed surface and missing chunks ! cheers from NZ
Hey mate. Plastic is hard as paint stripper isn't recommended you would want to sand it back to under the damage and prime and paint again. Hope this helps.
@@customspraymods that's great thank you.
How much does a repair range from
Followed all your steps mate my car has turned out shit hot cheers from northern England I'd send a video but i can't work out how to do it
Awesome mate that's great to hear.
Can I use a DA machine I use for normal paint correction to do this type of sanding Dave?
Ideally a smaller orbit is best 2.5mm. But the 21mm or 15mm seem to work so why not hey.
Indigridents
starting at 1500 grit way too much, gonna have scratches and swirls
Nope.
Wonder if it would clear up the hazy look it has if you polish it! Would have made a great test for the video
I have never seen a paint shop so neat & clean.
How not to do
Great job.
Dave, could you do a video on wet sanding for paint correcion please?
Me at 2 am
It wasn't a thing...but excellent video.
It worked
Sealer? Like what
A wax, polish or coating.
So ugly 😂
What a well made extremely informative and instructive video! Excellent information 👍🏼
Am I missing something, or does the paint cost more than just having the part made it chrome in the first place.
How do you know what base coat to use before using a color of your choice?
If using the fluro always use white etch primer only.
Beauooootiful! Thank you. Pleasse do more in the future. Just love watching'em
Those calipers look beauoooootiful! Outstanding job. Now I'm off to tackle this all by myself. Wish me luck.
Spot on wit almost everything i ran through in the video! Only thing id say is dont use a dollop and run a line of hardener through it. Ive messed up so many batches doing my engine bay it drove me nuts 😂 so i measure by weight, 2% is a 50:1 ratio and really isnt much from what id expected when i started
Can You Do This Same Process For Dirty Paint, Dust/Dirt?? Right Now We Are Cleaning Up A CandyApple Paint Job !
Is there any places in Massachusetts that do work like this. Cause every place I call wants to paint the whole panel
You're so cool. Thanks for showing!
Don't forget if your bike is fuel injected there's a pump in the tank do you want to be careful not to overheat that or the wires in hoses in the tank
Now it makes sense why you didnt really show the steps you told her, selling $550 classes..
I have a video called 1k vs 2k which goes over the steps.
Hey Dave, are you able to make a video on orbital sanders on which ones you use, including the small ones?
Great video on painting, just one important thing to note as a mechanic to never paint mating surfaces like on the face of the brake disc or surface for caliper bolts. The paint will collapse over time and cause the part to become loose (wheel or brake caliper). Actually very important, however many repair shops still paint them, we just have to buff it off.
Throw some satin black plasti dip on the wheels and it would super cool.
Is it flexible
Yes sure is
Can you apply it to plastic bumpers @@customspraymods
Great work !! while doing bumpers & Trims what amount PSI of Pressure did you use ? starting mine next week
What is the problem if you get a milky line where you blended after you bake it and 3000 grit sand then buff im thinking not enough heat was on spot or base coat went out further than expected when I was blending
A little above my head with the blending of the clear coat.
What a project that was. Thank you for the fantastic video and narration. Learned a hell of a lot! Nevada - USA
This guy doesnt respond to questions does he?
Honestly... most of us have a lot of distractions in this video
Whats kind of respirator should be used with this type of clear coat ?
tash looks like she could be actress michelle ryan's youger sister
For the beginner and novice the $700 gun isn't going to give better results. As the old saying goes " just because you have a bandana doesn't make you Willie Nelson".
So if u polish tgebpaint after clear tobget a shiny coat, do u have to do it again wheb it wear off like polish and waxing ?
Not if you sand and polish.
$400 though 😭. I absolutely love the results, though!
