  I actually really like this event as a whole. The stages all the way to EX all felt like they were puzzles that you only needed to figure out, whereupon you would just deploy the appropriate operators and clear the stage. It felt really nice to not have to stat stick everything. The one hole stage before EX boss stage is an exception because my dumbass refuses to raise a shifter, but beyond that this was a nice event and I hope we get more stages like this.

  Very interesting, definitely one of the reasons why the boss is easier for most people is the fact that in this stage in particular, the mechanics can very easily be used in your favor since a lot of the boss' pathing is completely separate from the rest of the enemies (Blight was infinitely harder to manage in EX-7 for example), and only one blight producing enemy spawns in its phase transition. I play with 5 stars only, and the solution was really easy (not that 5 star nicheknights is difficult at all) since I'm sure you know that kroos alter absolutely trivializes both phases of the boss haha. The rest of the enemies were simple too. I think what would have been great for the boss, and would have made 3 stars only for EX possible was if the boss was standing on clean water that it also would have decreased atk instead of just def and res

  I have tried like10 times to beat the normal mode stage 9 Fucking zuo le gets obliterated, penance gets obliterated every character I ever use as support gets nuked. At this point I might just try defense stacking just to survive

  Good job mate! I was trying to beat the normal EX 8 with only 5* and 4* I suffered too, because I dont have too much 5* builded, but I finally pass it, it was only 10 ops, but it was a good run, now the problem is the CM hahaha

  For me I'm a bit glad this boss is easier. Seeing as they are about to shove Trials#4 on us before the event is even over I want some time to "relax" with AK instead of just grinding through hard EX/CM stages I do wish the boss had a few more mechanics to it though. He doesn't really interact with the blight mechanic at all until phase 2 and even then there isn't much to it other than splash clean water on him to avoid his nuke. Anyways great clear ILA!

  It's interesting to think about how, when it comes to enemy design, what is defined as "easy" for full squads has become more and more divorced from something like "the bare minimum" (in this case, 3*s) This sort of boss design probably wouldn't have been _hard_ earlier in the game's lifespan, but when you look at the overall complexity of bosses it's night and day. This boss does SO MUCH to be a modern version of the older statsticks; Patriot, Big Bob, Mudrock, and even the Steam Knight; and because of its nature as a statstick it still gets screwed over by teams with higher complexity than 3*s It's so interesting that a random boss like this can pretty feasibly slip through the cracks; an oddly hard boss for 3*s to tackle despite being in a fairly vanilla and easy event in the grand scheme of things. The game really has changed.

  @@heaven64 it depends on how you view this fight; with context Patriot is a lot more effective at what he tried to be than this boss, and overall we agree that Patriot is more effective boss design than this pile of silk, but we still like how this boss is designed more than patriot, as patriot feels kinda bland. That's probably us just being contrarian tho :P

  Bringing Ceobe clears p1 in half of the skill duration, and destroys p2 while he is still in the lower part of the map, for me it were the ads that were a bigger threat in cm

  @@cat55198 I don't have Ceobe. What I did was Saria with Ptilopsis to tank the boss early and Mlynar to reduce the boss stats and prepare for 2nd phase. Then add another healer, I added Eyjaberry then Surtr. I used Surtr no skill killed 1st phase and I used her skill in 2nd phase. The one stopping enemies in top right blue box was Mountain, Ines and fast redeploys

  With how everyone was talking about how easy this boss was I thought 3* only would get through this boss real quickly but it ended up being quite a bit harder than I thought it would be. The 2 big issues is getting him down to enough atk so that he doesn't 1 shot Cardigan in phase 1 and then actually tanking him in phase 2. Phase 1 I tried a bunch of iterations before realising that he walks so damn slow that you can kill every single enemy and he won't reach your front line yet. Then I just spam bodies on him. Phase 2 was more complicated. He gets really close to 1 shotting Beagle without skill up, she lives with less than 100 hp. So of course I'd want to use Cardigan, but then the issue here is that she takes more damage and when Spot skill isn't up she can easily die. Especially if I'm using Ansel's skill to heal Noir Corne. So in the end the strat was to rely on Beagle skill while Spot's skill is down. Of course even while Spot's skill is up the chip damage from enemies, and especially the damage from the high defense dude, will just kill her after she gets hit so I had to roll some Spot dodges (I got way lucker than I needed to be in this clear, if you look at Beagle here she basically dodges every auto) and keep the enemies away from Beagle, can't let a spec of blight onto that general area. CM has no chance, Cardigan gets 1 shot by his phase 2.

  What make the boss "easy" is how you can ignore the mechanic altogether and just brute force him, a lot of newer boss have some kind of gimmick that you need to play around like degenbreacher and dorothy vision boss.

  My stubborn ass and it's laziness refused to change my squad and had the same idea as you with the water pumps, I didn't use a robot though so I just wasted a slot there for the purification..
