    Im in the south of 1B by the border of 1A and 2F. I hunted when i was a kid and never got one, I started again a few years ago as an adult. What you said is exactly what happened 25-30 years ago with my Dad and I on the public game lands around here since we have Erie and all the city people go to the same areas I joined a private gun club so now I have my own land i can hunt on and the other 100+ members maybe only one other guy goes out there. Thats an option for the guys out there that are frustrated. I belong to 3 clubs in the area up here and all 3 have 20-100+ acres of land available for hunting/fishing to use. The deer up here will end up dead on the road. Besides CWD there is also an issue happening where Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) goes rampant some summers. Happened where I hunt.

It was wonderful. Good intel on the food. Take your own with a grill. You aren’t going into a luxury resort area. For most of us, it’s roughing it. But, it’s an incredible experience. Download the ride command app from Polaris, it's free. SSRT is community mapped. As you meet people in the area ask them to send you a link to a ride command map of community trails not shown. Lots of other trails in this area are open outside hunting season on private ground as long as you stay on designated trails. SSRT and other big areas like rock run the map is already there, same for whiskey springs, bloody skillet. You can view ride command also on your regular computer to plan trips. Hope that helps

    This probably isnt the best idea unless you have great cell phone service. The connectivity loss can be seen a few times in this video. In order for this to work you have to turn your phone into a mobile hotspot, stream the gopro to the phone and the phone to youtube. I'm not saying dont attempt it, it was certainly enlightening as I had never tried it before and with 99% of this channel rooted in my personal life I didnt care if anyone watched. If you dont know, I am a tech guy, have been for 20 years professionally. Im what you might consider a "high tech redneck". The fact this is even an option is just simply out of this world. I had to stream in a max of 720 with not having connection to a wifi access point. Also worth noting, the gopro app will not let you go above 1080 regardless. Should I try this again? Buggys, fishing, hunting? Let me know what you think! Its definitely a neat technology but it does have limits. If you'd be interested Id definitely appreciate some feedback as this the first ever live for my channel. If you prefer the edits, tell me!

    The first time in HM we stayed in Matewan. Talk about desolate? Next trip was to Bluefield. The trails in Bluefield were more tame, almost to easy. They were all great and well maintained however the trails in Rockhouse, Devil Anse and Buffalo are definitely more advanced level. You went into the deep end of the pool right off the bat. We are middle aged similar to you. We haven’t needed to go on a black trail EVER! The trails are CRAZY in some places but very reasonable in most other places. I really enjoyed the format on the video, not filled with BS high speed runs and endless dialogue about the 20k worth of modifications to a 30k machine. Or banter about how good this ridiculously modified “insert OEM” is better than anything on the mountain. I look forward to more content. Subbed

My wife death knuckled every second of it. We ride to hang out with our friends at its most simple form. I dont live to ride, nor do I ever intend to be a hardcore machine basher. When I saw a guy strap a car seat on the back of a four wheeler down there I knew I was in for something interesting. The fact they rent X3's to anyone with a credit card is mind boggling. Funny thing. The military and scientist did "T&E" on warming an entire body from very cold/emersion in cold and what they found is rather amazing. Having a warming device gripped in your hands, circulates the best heat in one minute! Why?: Blood vessels in hand are very close to skin, and it takes approximately 1 min to circulate blood through-out the entire body. I keep these in my med-kit for that reason. "put them in your freezing friends/victims hands!!!" If you have to, close their hands for them or wrap hands closed. If extream...Install, wrap and perform chest compression (heart stop), you need circulation of blood/heat. Freezing stops degredation, so work quickly but do wrap 1st. Hope it helps.

    It's the "KZread Gurus" out there that are poisoning public in PA. Now anyone with a camera that can find deer turds thinks they can be the Gurus. There are no ethics anymore. They only want to put something on the wall. A buddy of mine who has a huge following quit posting his shed hunting videos because of this. I cover serious ground and there's cell cams on every tree. They are out there stealing other peoples cams, ripping down tree stands, and putting out bait piles. I've seen it all. It's an absolute insult to the rich tradition that is PA deer hunting. Thanks for posting man.

    Yea i remember the "good ole days" in the 70's and 80's when i would see 10 or more does in one day and pencil spikes and guys would brag about getting their buck (usually spike or 4 pt) Put out a trail cam and you will see the number of deer and good bucks in the same area you think there are no more deer. Pa still leads the nation in car/deer collisions so what does that tell you.

    I just started hunting again after 23 years because my son wanted to start. We are on public land, I understand that. But there doesn't seem to be much basic hunting etiquette. I went to my blind for an evening sit on Jan. 5 and I had to kick someone out of it. Is this normal these days?

  • @jhoffman81
    @jhoffman817 ай бұрын

    Guys have this idea that if a stand or blind is on public its free use. I disagree 100%. Ive never sat in another persons setup nor would I. Now, many make the argument someone is reserving that spot by putting a setup there. My thought is, if you come across something and no one is there and you setup right next to it then its yours for the day and if that person shows up they should move on. Im not sure what you experienced is a hunting problem but more a problem with society in general, no one gives a shit about anyone else anymore. Honestly, you might never experience it again, ive never had someone in my stands. Ive only ever had 1 camera and 1 sd card stolen in 20 years of cameras too. Most people are not that bold. Ground blinds really stand out like sore thumbs, if you wanna limit who will get into something try using hangons, they make kids harnesses. Then take the bottom climbing stick with you. Good luck!

  • 7 ай бұрын

    @@jhoffman81 I agree with it being a societal problem. I'd have no problem if he sat 10 yards from my blind. It's public land. But I'd never use someone else's gear.

    I upgraded a lot of my budget rods and reels this past year. Spent thousands of dollars on this project. The year before that I stocked up on lures and baits. This year I'm refurbishing a fiberglass john boat I got off of Facebook Marketplace for $700. No leaks, but it needs a paint job, and I'm going to make some nice cushioned seats. That's my fishing project for this year. I agree with you. It's really easy to give in and spend unnecessarily on wants not needs. Every year I really try to focus on investing on the things I really need to facilitate the actual fishing experience. I don't buy lures I don't need or won't use often. I let my bulk supply dwindle to a set of two before restocking. Stuff ships fast anyway and I know what I like. If I'm running low on my dirty jigs swim, casting, finesse, and football jigs then I'll restock. I like to have at least two of each on deck. Same with everything else. I'll end up spending like $20 here and there in preparation for specific bodies of water. Maybe, the next couple trips I'm fishing for trout and won't need those jigs until next month.
