Trad-Man The Window Cleaner

Trad-Man The Window Cleaner

Videos on this channel range from tool reviews to tips, tricks and tutorials on how to clean windows, whether your brand new or you have been in the trade for a while.

My name is Peter McKay aka TRAD-MAN.

I started working as a window cleaner in 2008, I've worked for 2 large professional window cleaning companies who used both traditional and pure water cleaning methods.

In 2015 I started my own business and in 2017 I began making KZread videos to help those just starting out and those that have perhaps been in the the trade for some time.

The goal for me as a window cleaning KZreadr is to show the latest tools and techniques so you can create an even more successful business for yourself or simply make your life that little bit easier.

Enjoy!

Oh and remember... KEEP ON SQUEEGEE SLING'N

Hi mate, as that an old roof rack you've bolted to the inside of your van for wfp and brush storage?

Too much soap. It will look clean as never before, but reality is this window will be sticky therefore become dirty faster than ever before.

Have all three but always using moerman. It is really make work faster and more relaxed, as you don’t need to use a microfiber on every detail

Hi, I would like to ask you for some advice. I have started a cleaning company, and of course, windows are an essential part of cleaning. Which window squeegee would you recommend? I found the Unger brand from you, and I've also seen Moerman, but it is hard to find here in Slovakia. Unger is more readily available. I would like some advice on what specific set I should buy for my employees as a necessary kit for window cleaning. Thank you very much for your prompt response.

Le problème de lexelerator cest qu'il laisse des stries alors je n'utilise pas le canal d'origine. Meme si je dois désormais essuyer les bords.

Hello from Spain, just love your videos, especially those about actual work (rather than reviews, wich i find interesting aswell). I just happen to be an old time window cleaner myself , always use moerman squeguees ever since i discovereded them. I guess you use some dish soap.Did you ever tried carpet shampoo? Its the best solution, just a bit in yout bucket.Give it a try and you will forget about using bottles.Much better results in glass also. Negative angles in the excelerator (in swivel position) coupled with a short pole, takumi pole for instance, helps reduce kneeling too much ,wich i think you try to prevent as much as possible by seeing how you do those doors. Even those you did ,wich are not wide at all, can be done in such way.Congrats for your helpful videos ! Keep it up!

Wow thank you so much for this great video. I’m moving from my tree surgery business into window cleaning when I relocate to Spain and your videos are a massive help. Do you charge per hour for a “detailing first clean” then per window on regular follow up visits? I know it’s not something we usually share in public but a bit of pricing strategy would be a massive help as I make my change. Have you covered this in other videos?

i find it a fantastic tool BUT the swivel action is left to be desired find it abit on the stiff side even after loosen the bolt tightness i had to grease it up with grease to get it to function abit better. ive tried using it on a pole with the swivel action open without the grease and it wasnt performing as it should until i greased it up obviously

  • @TradMan
    @TradMan16 күн бұрын

Yeah its not really good for swiveling on the pole. I use it more as a hand tool in a locked position

@@TradMan same here buddy I no longer use it for the pole high up. The swivel on it makes no sense for this type at all. It's painful to sometimes get it into the position you want it at heights.

How do you avoid prematurely hitting the bottom ledge while squeegeeing? I’ve found no help on this. It always hits that and I keep having to readjust the angle to compensate.

So when your applicator runs dry would you place it back in the uncontaminated water to get it wet again thus contaminating the water or do you carry vasts amounts of clean water or applicators so you can carry this procedure out every time thus taking huge amounts of time and not being environmentally friendly?
