Trad-Man The Window Cleaner
Trad-Man The Window Cleaner
Videos on this channel range from tool reviews to tips, tricks and tutorials on how to clean windows, whether your brand new or you have been in the trade for a while.
My name is Peter McKay aka TRAD-MAN.
I started working as a window cleaner in 2008, I've worked for 2 large professional window cleaning companies who used both traditional and pure water cleaning methods.
In 2015 I started my own business and in 2017 I began making KZread videos to help those just starting out and those that have perhaps been in the the trade for some time.
The goal for me as a window cleaning KZreadr is to show the latest tools and techniques so you can create an even more successful business for yourself or simply make your life that little bit easier.
Enjoy!
Oh and remember... KEEP ON SQUEEGEE SLING'N

Hi mate, as that an old roof rack you've bolted to the inside of your van for wfp and brush storage?
Too much soap. It will look clean as never before, but reality is this window will be sticky therefore become dirty faster than ever before.
Have all three but always using moerman. It is really make work faster and more relaxed, as you don’t need to use a microfiber on every detail
Just wondering how you managed to keep your bottle of warm water warm in the cold temperatures 🤔
Hi, I would like to ask you for some advice. I have started a cleaning company, and of course, windows are an essential part of cleaning. Which window squeegee would you recommend? I found the Unger brand from you, and I've also seen Moerman, but it is hard to find here in Slovakia. Unger is more readily available. I would like some advice on what specific set I should buy for my employees as a necessary kit for window cleaning. Thank you very much for your prompt response.
Le problème de lexelerator cest qu'il laisse des stries alors je n'utilise pas le canal d'origine. Meme si je dois désormais essuyer les bords.
This ain’t working man it leaves soap
Hi, Thanks for your videos, Im just getting back into window cleaning after being away from the trade for about 15 yrs and the videos are of great help. Steve East Devon.
Why is your intro so…. 😑 Wiggling wagglers?
Oh - you’ve changed all your branding mate?
Hello from Spain, just love your videos, especially those about actual work (rather than reviews, wich i find interesting aswell). I just happen to be an old time window cleaner myself , always use moerman squeguees ever since i discovereded them. I guess you use some dish soap.Did you ever tried carpet shampoo? Its the best solution, just a bit in yout bucket.Give it a try and you will forget about using bottles.Much better results in glass also. Negative angles in the excelerator (in swivel position) coupled with a short pole, takumi pole for instance, helps reduce kneeling too much ,wich i think you try to prevent as much as possible by seeing how you do those doors. Even those you did ,wich are not wide at all, can be done in such way.Congrats for your helpful videos ! Keep it up!
Well done! Your goal to be helpful and share your tiis was well done!
Wow thank you so much for this great video. I’m moving from my tree surgery business into window cleaning when I relocate to Spain and your videos are a massive help. Do you charge per hour for a “detailing first clean” then per window on regular follow up visits? I know it’s not something we usually share in public but a bit of pricing strategy would be a massive help as I make my change. Have you covered this in other videos?
How do you do the interior with all the signs tapped to the windows? Do you take off the signs or work around them?
If anything is taped I work around it.
How do you clean behind the locks on sash windows? Detail brush? The dead flies etc can be seen from outside.
A mix of brushes, wet / dry vac and a powerful spray bottle
i find it a fantastic tool BUT the swivel action is left to be desired find it abit on the stiff side even after loosen the bolt tightness i had to grease it up with grease to get it to function abit better. ive tried using it on a pole with the swivel action open without the grease and it wasnt performing as it should until i greased it up obviously
Yeah its not really good for swiveling on the pole. I use it more as a hand tool in a locked position
@@TradMan same here buddy I no longer use it for the pole high up. The swivel on it makes no sense for this type at all. It's painful to sometimes get it into the position you want it at heights.
I use combinator in hand only asap one pass tool. I use it on maintenance cleaning jobs on hot and freezing days. 18in is much easier to use for me.
Dude what channel was that in the intro ???
What are the "last few pants" products that we need to avoid from moerman?
Rubber, poles, scraper and the drywalker boab
Thanks Peter, you're a great Teacher 😅... I wish I could be there learning directly from you guys and than of course hands on the job. I follow you here, always good to get some new tips and ideas on how to get better on the trade! God bless you mate. All the best to you and your buddies there.
Thanks pal 👍🏻
Well done mate. That's a really nice job you're doing there. I'll be doing something similar here in Brazil coz I'm a Newbie on this but I'll get there as well eventually. I've already got everything in line to start ordering as my starter Kit. Wish me luck buddy. All the best to you guys over there...

This works as f
Hi. Would you recommend the zero degree or 30 for working at height?
Usually the 30°
@TradMan cheers mate
I almost did not come here because of the SUPRISED look on your face in your thumbnail....but thank you for the info.
Fantastic video really good job explaining all the detail which is what most people leave out thank you. I appreciate it.

Very welcome 😊
How do you avoid prematurely hitting the bottom ledge while squeegeeing? I’ve found no help on this. It always hits that and I keep having to readjust the angle to compensate.
Practice, practice, practice
So when your applicator runs dry would you place it back in the uncontaminated water to get it wet again thus contaminating the water or do you carry vasts amounts of clean water or applicators so you can carry this procedure out every time thus taking huge amounts of time and not being environmentally friendly? National window cleaning director
When you're holding the bottom of the pole near the top of the window (demonstrating your sevens technique), I have to wonder if you really needed a pole :)
Let me see a demo on a window you actually can’t reach. That might be impressive
You are a idiot maty You have no idea what so ever 😂
Do they not have funnels in Scotland?
2024 and still the best video dude!!!
🤣🤣🤜🏻🤛🏻
Yes, love the chit chat with no music! Instead of doing chores I’m watching window washing videos. I have no idea why.
🤣
Can you please show us how to wash the window as an absolute amateur? I feel like "pro" is a very high bar for me to even try cleaning my windows
Will it bring me internal peace if I drink it?
🤣🤣🤣 possibly. Will definitely give you indigestion
Why is there no save button?
Is it possible to attach a moerman channel to a unger ninja handle?
Unfortunately not I'm afraid
I wish they sold these in the USA. Good quality, and a good price.
hola , se que este video es antiguo pero me gusta mucho, quisiera preguntarte como cobras la limpieza de vidrio con poste alimentado y con métodos tradicionales. muchas gracias
Thanks for all your videos. I really appreciate it. Well done!
Glad they help pal 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Whats it called and a link pls
Where did you get that small squeegee? Can't seem to find any smaller than 15cm
Window cleaning warehouse or window clean centre
Do you leave a small gap on top of window when wash down when you do non pole work?
On maintenance cleans yes 😊
Silly question, I’ve just bought the Moerman 3.0 and don’t fully understand the angles, I generally use 25 in hand and 0 on a pole. Any advice appreciated, and thank you for being a great help with your videos from Australia
Watch more of my videos to learn more 🤣😉
thank you helpful vids. discount code doesn't work anymore?
Apparently not. They never told me it had been stopped.
