    When getting pinched in a cut, don’t remove the head from the shaft! Remove the bar from the head, then slide the bar out from the cut leaving the chain, the if you have another chain, which you really should have, install the chain and cut your other chain free!

    Seems that the push springs and possibly other sliding components within the shaft are the real issue!

    My new HT131 is disconnecting so why doesn't it work without the weld ? Mine will work for awhile then disconnect . I took it apart couldn't find anything wrong . reassembled it and it worked now it's doing it again. It seems to disconnect when I extend the pole.

  • @that1treeguyllc887

    It’s the spring inside the shaft. The super long spring puts tension and forces the drive shaft into the chainsaw tip. When the spring wears and breaks over time it dosent have enough pressure to keep the shaft pressing into the chainsaw tip so when your extending and retracting the shaft it’ll pop out. You can use superglue as a quick fix but if your usuing it everyday you will want to weld it. Can’t order a new spring , have to order the whole shaft assembly for like $350!!!! Bs. Which is why I made the video. Welding the tip is not the best thing but better than blowing $350 bucks. It’s a free fix

    If you are taking the sump off anyway you can lock the flywheel using a normal flywheel/starter ring gear locking tool with three flat rear edge radiused to match the bell housing curve. Once the sump is off turn the crank until the front pulley locking pin aligns then when you for the flywheel locking tool it should be at tdc.

    Yes, buy the Amazon $25 camera to attach to your phone so you can look down into the cylinders and make sure they are clean from all metal shavings when your finished. I hooked up a shop vac to a funnel to vacuum out the cylinders and I used compressed air both to try and clean it out. Worked great for like 20,000 miles and then the transmission went out 😭

    There are much better ways to replace a valve stem seal. U should not have made this video cause people who don't know any better will think what u did was the right way. U never use a magnet. U never use visegrips, and chances are replacing the valve stem seal will only work for a short period of time, maybe not at all.

    Hey guys I thought I would update the post. So because I did not use the torque multiplier tool on the reinstall it came out of timing after a time of driving. This works to disassemble the car and fix it WHILE YOUR WAITING FOR THE TORQUE MULTIPLIER IN THE MAIL!! I did fix the engine twice but eventually had Ford do it for $6000 to learn I did it correctly!!!! Just didn’t torque it down tight enough on the install. Don’t skimp on the torque multiplier tool. No one has it you have to order it

  • @viko2812
    @viko28125 ай бұрын

    Damn, Sorry to hear that. Btw, did you use torque wrench when you installed new bolt + new friction washer? I suspect without multiplier torque have to be 300(350?) N.m + 86 deg. or with torque multiplier 70 N.m. + x5 90 deg. Not sure... here but I heard somewhere it have to be 450 N.m. (if someone reads that... Verify before use!!! )

    They sell a fitting that will let you hook an air compressor to your spark plug hole, or you can make one from an old plug. 10 or 15 psi will keep the valves from falling in. Or you can do a similar trick with some thin rope, you just keep stuffing the rope into the cylinder via the spark plug hole until no more goes in. Obviously you want to be near TDC otherwise you need a lot of rope!

  • @that1treeguyllc887
    @that1treeguyllc8872 жыл бұрын

    Yea something to keep in mind is you will have to replace the linkage because the metal wears in the contact spot making it smaller over time and easier to pop back out. With a new linkage the diameter is normal and less likely to pop out. You could also job weld the plastic area to prevent it from popping out of the weak plastic clip area. ( my saws have years of commercial use and wear but stihl working )
