    I have an identical forklift. It is 1952 or 53 with the original red paint. No smoke. Replaced chain, front brake pads, front tires, lift cylinder, propane regulator, oil filter, hydraulic pump rebuilt, and it is still working great. It is still at 6 volt. No horn or lights, and broken temp gauge and missing gasoline gauge. Grinds when placing in gear so the clutch probably needs some adjustment. Been using it for over 25 years. Very interesting videos.

    Question does the inner seal also help hold the axel in place or just prevents differential fluid from reaching the brakes? I followed pretty much step-by-step but I forgot to put in the inner seal in the axle. That's why I'm asking

  • @AllisonCustoms
    @AllisonCustoms21 күн бұрын

    I would say, it has nearly nothing to do with holding the axle. But if it is missing, it will definitely let a lot of fluid into the axle tube. My recommendation would be to/e to go back and install the inner seals.

    Where did you get that metal oil pan?

  • @AllisonCustoms
    @AllisonCustoms26 күн бұрын

    I think I got mine at Northern Tool. I had to replace the pump because it leaked from the pump case. There are several on Amazon some that look to be the exact same. Also, the top grate (or whatever you call it) is very flimsy, I cut a piece of 1/4” thick expanded metal to put on there and then put the original back on top to help catch small parts. We tried setting a small transmission on it at one point and the original grate just folded up. Hense the HD upgrade. It rolls really well and with the new pump it works great. I might consider an electric pump version, but then you need a power source every time you want to empty it.???? *** The following links are Amazon Associate links and do help support the channel - using them does NOT add additional cost to the buyer. *** DMC-FPPS Oil Drain Pan 17 Gallon Oil Drain Tank with Hand Pump - (very similar to mine, I like the pump up front): amzn.to/3VLdJ0F VEVOR Oil Drain Pan 15 Gallon Oil Drain Tank (rear pump - may cause issues getting it under some lower vehicles): amzn.to/4bW0sYV VEVOR Oil Drain Pan, 15 Gallon Oil Drain Pan with Electric Pump: amzn.to/45wxz38 Thanks for the watching and commenting!

    what are the holes in the top of the torque box for and arent they being covered up by that toe board? I know the one is for the e brake but its confusing because the ebrake lever is in the cab and this seems like it would route the cable into the engine bay?

  • @AllisonCustoms
    @AllisonCustoms2 ай бұрын

    To my knowledge the e brake cable is run completely under the car and then comes into the cabin (thru the firewall) very near the top of the pedal assembly. Here is a link I found that show the routing. www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=19118.0

  • @jeepinitreal
    @jeepinitreal2 ай бұрын

    @@AllisonCustoms thanks for the reply. I did more research and im pretty sure it doesnt enter the firewall. the torque box you saw has those two little holes top left, and then the channel exit just to the right of those. The channel runs inside the torque box with the entrance at the bottom. so the cable runs through there and so I would think you gotta cut a hole in the toe board for the cable to come up through that channel. the two extra holes im told are just relief holes whatever that means

  • @AllisonCustoms
    @AllisonCustomsАй бұрын

    When the owner gets ready to start back on that project, I’ll have to pull all my assembly manuals out and take a look. That car has been under a cover for about 18 months waiting on the owner. So, I honestly haven’t put a whole lot of thought into Mustangs in a while.

  • @AllisonCustoms
    @AllisonCustoms2 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the compliment! Yes, I think the stock fuel line size would work, however (at least on my truck) the fuel line is some kind of plastic and I doubt it would stand up to the pressure. So, I would say, plan to replace the fuel lines. I say go EFI and enjoy the drivability!
