  Thanks for the video. This is a BIG help! Cleaning the pads is a pain for me. When I do it the solder wick always gets stuck on the pad. I'm going to try your method with the blade tip. I've never tried with that tip.

  That’s amazing soldering but I guess it depends what it’s for, it seemed like it took a good amount of time and experience which would be worth more than a ribbon cable. I guess I could see doing this if you needed the device up asap and can’t wait for a part to ship
