Hi nice video it looks like you changed almost everything 😂 is it still SG116? Just kidding... I found weird problem on mine maybe interesting for you as I can see you not only buying parts, but you really think about things how it works when upgrading. How to explain it right way...I have a problem to straighten up the trace of my Max. Im not able to balance steering direction throught ST trim knob on the remote control for longer period. When I do that and everything looks OK its again unbalanced after some steering with remote control steering wheel to left or right. E.g. when its directing straith with some ST. Trim knob balancing-> I rotate control wheel to e.g. right -> I leave RC wheel in neutral position (only throttle) then its again a little bit to the right. When I do the same to the left even after balancing with ST trim knob its steering by itself a little bit to the left. Any thoughts? I checked links and everything and it seems HW is OK. Its like the servo isnt able to get to exact the same neutral position after manual steering. Normaly its not a problem only at high speeds its dangerous to crash and I have to compensate it every time I try high speed. Sry for my english its not my native language. Hello @@kultus26 i suspect that maybe you have one or two broken teeth in the servo gears. Do you have stock steering links and all that? Try to remove servo plug from esc and give a clean sometimes taking it off and install it helps. Its easy to remove amd open the servo, do that and check if theres is something broke, if it his, turn the gear 180° and install it again. Please give some follow up on how it went or if need help on doing it i will do a small video showing how to remove and open the servo to help you. Yes everything stock except shocks but they dont affect this behavior. I also realized that when I set (by hand) the front links and everything symetric to car axis, left and right tires are in shape "V" but I read that some manufacturers do that by stock and it can be "repaired" by new adjustable links e.g. yours but still this also shouldnt have impact on balance changes during driving. OK I will try it and give feedback but its strange as driving forward and backward acts differentialy. Driving backward is less balanced than drive forward.THX for now
Im back. So, to dismantle and get into the servo it takes more time, focusing and confidence for newby than I have for now but...my observations. 1. disconnected first control rod with balls joints on both sides from servo to links, set "0" on ST trim knob, turn on vehicle and short "vertical" servo rode (with spring) is exactly in the center and vertical. That is good. 2. when I connected control rod back the issue is back. 3. when I was slowly steering to the left or right I could hear some little squeaking noise from both sides and in my opinion its not so smooth than I expected, but this can be caused by almost whole plastic mechanism and natural deforming of the links and control rods during steering because of quite big forces and moments. Just my opinion. 4. The most important one. When I center the servo vertical control rod (with spring) and trying to steer with steering wheen not by hand ( in the air to eliminate influences from car weight and tires resistance), when I steer to the left and then stop the servo is returning to different position then when I steer to the right. So servo is not returning to zero position when the whole servo steering mechanism is connected. That is why the tires are always in different position after stopping steering to right or left. With only throttle car is steering itselve to the right or left depending what was last steering direction (left or right) and its impossible to compensate it by ST trim. 😮 Super weird. What know and idea what to try?

OK I couldnt wait and installed new metal shocks w/o oil on my car...unbelievable difference!!! I hadnt time to try it outside but static test->no bouncing at all. 😂 They act almost like oil filled shocks. I will stick with it at least for now and will see how it will act in real scenario.

Hello, Really nice, well detailed and informative vid you posted, Congrats and thank you. I have bought myself the same exact care with most of the upgrade parts. Only issue that I have is connecting the heat sink fan to some power. The fan has 2 pin plug and the extension you provided is with 3. Can you provide a small vid or picture of the part you ordered for the heat sink fan in order to connect it, an url for the part? Thank you in advance!

Hi Im new in RC and found your interesting repairing/upgrading videos. Today Ive got SG116 max. Its a beast but Im concerning aboud weird crackling sound from transmition/differential. I can also hear it a little bit in your video (0.22-0.25sec). It drives me crazy, I knoy its all metal rotating parts but the sound is really sick. I hear it also on other reviewers videos so I wonder if its normal since nobody is solving it. THX and keep in good work

THX I bought it from Ali in only foam box for $60, unbelievable price I thought they will send me Pro version only...but not Ive got Max and even in original box 😂😂😂 very happy with the buy. Normal price for EU with TAX is around $100. First Ive to change shocks for some oil ones and battery for LiPo...

😅I have one too, but mine is pink..😂I upgraded it as soon as it arrived. I upgraded it to 2847 5600kv, 60a brushless ESC, Oil shock, bigger rubber tyre, receiver & dumbbell controller..🤭I thought about upgrading to a 20kg servo before but I thought the bike was a bit light, so I didn’t upgrade it..😂I’ve only done it three times in total, I’ve never jumped any heights and never played on dirty roads, only on clean roads..But I’m planning to sell it to my friend because he keeps asking me to sell it to him..🤣If you use 3S electromagnetic running, it will be a bit difficult to control and it’s too fast..I wish you more and more fans on your channel and good health and safety...💪Come on...

Is there a way to swap out the front, center, back drive shafts, spur gears, drive pinions, differentials for something maybe more universal and easier to replace?
Hello my fellow subscriber, there is nothing universal the pitch amd or mod has to be the same between gears, in sg116max its used mod 0.6 on spur and pinion the other gears should be the same. Its not hard to find .6 mod gears for cheap you dont have to buy feom the rc car sellers, just have to buy the same mod and teeth count. To change for other pinion you have to adjust the motor mount and this rc doesnt have a changeable motor mount, lots of rc dont. Hipe i help you and answered your question. You've been a lot of help. Well, I'm having some horrible cogging issues on the scy 16101. I put new differentials, a new motor and the thing still cogs. Idk what the hell is up with this crap. I'm not sure if it could be the ESC? Fruatrating! Lmao 😅🤣 any idea what it could be? @@Fast_Lane_RC

Hello my friend, correct its the 105mm i did measure the speed was slower then the 95mm ones the faster tires i have are still the small stock ones, if speed is what you need the stock are the ones to go. This ones have more torque on after you get it rolling and wants to backflip without ramp lol. Thanks for watching.

Hello my friend, Yes if you tighten too much it makes pressure on the bearings, the solution is backout the wheel nut little by little until it moves free and use blue thread lock so it doenst come backing out.

@@rarebanana hello again see if the new wheel when you put the hex in it if the plastic of the wheel protrudes from the hex, cause this way it would rub against the steering cup, the cause might be that the wheel hex is 4mm and the wheel plastic hex insert might be for 5mm hex. If this is the case you have two solutions, grind it a little bit the plastic so it stays flush with hex or install a washer in between the hex and the wheel so the hex is a bit thicker. do you understand? I am just thinking of what it could be, hope it helps you in anyway. Thanks for watching.

I have this car..its amazing..mine is brushless ..34 mph on stock 2s is more than enough power and speed..3s with a good lipo its 50 plus..brushless version has all metal diffs and drive train.mine even came with metal knuckles...Can you tell me if those adjustable tie rods are available? And are they a direct fit or did you have to retrofit? Thanks

What weight shock oil do you run?? I just ordered the same blue Aluminum Alloy Suspension kit u are running I have some oil shocks on mine right now and they are too stiff I have some 800 weight shock oil but I think that might make them stiffer.

@@rickybaldwin6160 i found this that my help you : 10wt = 100cst 15wt = 150cst 20wt = 200cst 25wt = 275cst 30wt = 350cst 35wt = 425cst 40wt = 500cst 45wt = 575cst 50wt = 650cst 55wt = 725cst 60wt = 800cst This is the weight conversion chart so 50wt might be too thick still, but test it before make any conclusions and order another one you might not need hehe.
@@Fast_Lane_RC what cst/weight did you say you use? Because this team Losi is 50wt 710cst so I’d say it’ll be too thick. Also I ordered one of those chargers not too long ago and the first light won’t show up anything and then other 2 lights work but won’t tell you if they are done changing.

Hi, and thanks for the question, yes they will, the kit comes with 3 links that fit the stock q117, the other 4 you keep for spares, cause you can reuse that screw that has in the center of the link and change the tips when the ball head gets worn or the arm bends(it had happen to me before). Sehr interessant. Ich habe das gleiche Modell ebenso mit all den blauen Alu-Teilen. Aber mich würde es interessieren wie sich die Buggy-Reifen verhalten. Mein Max ist brutal auf den Achsen. Er kann nur mit dicken Reifen! Auch interessiert mich wie sie den Ventilator am Motor anschließen. Meiner fährt ohne, aber mit Kühlrippe.

Has anybody fit a 3s battery in the stock holder?

But i had problems with 3s in one of my sg116 max so i only ise 2s cause 3s its too powerfull lol.

Hello my friend, No because this connects to the receiver box and scy 16101 doesnt have this, uses insyead a 2 in 1 esc and receiver. In the scy you wont need this just aplit the front lights cable and connect rear brake like and they will work in the channel 3 just like the headlights do, so there you go. Thanks for watching

Have you ever upgraded from brushed to brushless? I bought part to upgrade differential to metal gears and found that the gears did not synchronize well. I have new esc and 2840 motor on the way.

Have you tried speak with the shop were you buy say that you bought the car and you need a battery maybe they cam help you out. Search also in your city there might be any type of store that sell radio controlled cars. The batteries from the power tools also work, if you know anyone electrician near you talk to him about what you need, a 2s battery with 30c discharge rate, he might be able to build one for you, its not hard.
