Great lesson; if you can nail it it's so satisfying to play. By the way if you play with your fingers over the neck pickup like magic sam you get a really authentic tone; using a guitar with humbuckers (in my case mini humbuckers in a 1972 deluxe goltop) really help out.

Thanks Heath! My JamMan looper has an auto record, when I hit record it is armed and waits for my guitar signal to start recording. It was tricky getting the stomp out timing correct without changing dynamics. Start with a short one or two bar loop to get the seamless loop. Nothing fancy. It’s amazing getting the first few loops where I can’t tell the stomp out point. I’m now using a looper to record my bass guitar line then overdub guitar rhythm saving all overdubs. Then I can freestyle practice my soloing over my track with my bass or guitar or slide. It’s a heck of a rabbit hole. My proficiency is not good and I see yet another layer of the onion in my guitar endeavours. I find it is taking daily consistent practice to not lose my learning curve. I do loop but I actually record count in and a full song with outro to layer songs now. So its “start” then “stop” layering overdubs until I am finished.

Mr. FGA, Your lessons are super valuable. I just had this one pull into my feed today and I'm glad it did. Within the last 6 weeks or so, you did an excellent video on E chord embellishments and turnarounds. I've come up with my own 12 bar arrangement with an original set of lyrics, that would not have been possible without your teaching. It dovetails with this lesson very nicely. Thank you for what you do sir!
