Rode it in the mid 90s. If anything looked like it was plucked straight out of Roller Coaster Tycoon it was Vortex.
My all-time favorite coaster. The vortex made me coaster lover.

My mom and I managed to convince my dad, who’s deathly afraid of heights, to ride this. His eyes were glued to the first hill the entire time we were in line. He had a panic attack going up said hill, then had his hands up the rest of the way.

If you are afraid to do this ride i promise it isn’t as bad as it looks. The drop is only steep for maybe two seconds after that its smooth sailing. Don’t get caught up in the height of it because you are down to ground level pretty fast after getting to the top.

It was closed the whole time we were there last week.
What a fun coaster! I remember our high school physics class taking a field trip to Six Flags New England. It was a random weekday in May and the park was pretty empty. My friend and I rode the Superman at least 8 times- front row and back row alternating. Just an awesome day. One underrated aspect of this ride is the amazing view of the Connecticut River on your left as you ascend that first rise.

Loved that coaster. Live very close to KI and rode it when it opened. Line was 4 hours long.
I just wanna know how you got the camera on there being that this is the only ride in the park they legit have a metal detector to make sure you bring absolutely NOTHING on the ride lol

How much faster that lift hill was with the original motor! Now it's slower with the backup motor installed in 2018. But, Mille is getting a new motor and controller for the 2025 season!
Man, I loved Vortex. It was the first coaster with inversions I got the nerve to ride as a kid. Couldn't keep me off of it after that. RIP to a legend.
