    The currently-existing structure named Liverpool Castle is a scaled replica that was commissioned by Lord Leverhulme. Work started in 1912 and continued until Lord Leverhulme's death in 1925.

    Very nice. My son is doing a school project on Warrington Castle, aka The Mount, aka Moat Hill Castle and many other names it has gone by. Where did you get your inspiration from to develop this design? We've been trying to find resources and references for his report.

    An impressive castle even if unfinished. What also impressed me was the iron rings on the outside of the walls for tying up boats still in situ!

    Thank you for this. I was born and bred near this beautiful castle, they used to hold Carnivals the, where all the different Carnival Queens and the escorts would be at the centre of the castle. It was a truly happy occasion . Queens from all the surrounding villages from Anglesey would be in colour costumes. Why did it end. It was joyous for the children and adults to watch. Bring it back , I'm sure people would like to reminisce and have enjoyment

    On one hand, very detailed, certainly a lot of hard, skillful work. You do lose metaphorical points for the 'big metal torches halfway up a wall, outdoors, in broad daylight, wasting fuel to do nothing useful' thing, though. I know they look cool in movies, but they don't make a lot of sense for castles at the time.

    What time in history is that intended to be? Originally the sea or perhaps a canal came up to the castle and boats would sail right up the the castle to on/off load.

    This castle is a sad story. In the 1290s, Madog ap Llywellyn, a scion of the defeated House of Gwynedd, rose up against the conquering English king, Edward Longshanks. After some initial success, the rebellion was put down, and Madog's hometown on Ynys Mon (Anglesey) was destroyed. This castle was the built atop its ruins, it was the final castle built in Wales by Edward.

    Does the music have to be so loud. Looks good except for the towers, would they really be filled with roofs like that? As a platform to fight from raised roofs would be tricky.

  • @XperienceDigitalHistory
    @XperienceDigitalHistory3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the comments, the roof was not intended to be seen as it was a first person walkthrough in VR, so you would look up but never see the roof detail. Sadly the video had to be rushed for the museum to display it.
