    I’m a girl and I work in software sales which is predominantly a male industry therefore all my friends are mostly men. I didn’t meet them in my childhood but I’m with them all the time because we work together. It’s always appropriate though.

    Men paying the bills and paying for dates is not a new thing. Women HAD to get married to men because they weren’t allowed to work, or have bank accounts, or get a loan, buy a house, etc. It’s funny how men put themselves in that situation to be the “provider”, but blame women. The problem isn’t women. The problem is capitalism and patriarchy, but y’all aren’t ready to have that conversation.

    Some ppl are saying sprinkle sprinkle shouldn’t be taken seriously or he’s misunderstanding what it means. Y’all can say this but reactions to Jalen saying he doesn’t believe the default of being a provider is solely monetary shows that his views on the sprinkle sprinkle movement was right in the mind of many women. A lot of women now question Jalen’s right as a man, his masculinity, and in crazy cases his sexuality bc they now view him as a broke leech because he’s not Monet’s default walking wallet. The original message of the sprinkle sprinkle movement may have been different but women now or showing out in the worst way possible, doing exactly as what men do connecting a women’s worth as a human being/woman to the state of her body by connecting Jalen’s worth as a man by him not paying both his and Monet’s separate mortgages and all hers/his extracurriculars as a nonmarried/childless couple. The toxic response to this open, non-malicious conversation shows what the sprinkle sprinkle movement means to many now.

    I came from that one clip that's been circulating on tiktok, and a bunch of women are stitching it trying to shame him as if he said anything bad. it's like some women are threatened by men whose self worth doesn't only derive from their capacity to provide or from them being the sole provider. Basically men who don't feel less of a man because they don't have all the financial power, which is ironic. those women basically want a man who needs to have leverage over them

    It’s so refreshing to know there’s still grounded people on these platforms in spite of all the fame, money, & hate they receive. They never loose sight of what’s actually important, which is the life that is happening before their eyes not obsessing over the lives they see online. A relationship shouldn’t just be this or that, each relationship is different in terms of their values and how they choose to live. Just find what works best for you and live fully.

    I think the ability to take charge, make decisions and get things done for your partner is being a “provider”. If ya girl calls you freaking out cuz she’s stranded on the side of the road w a flat, and w no AAA, if you’re able to fix that problem for her, then you’re a great provider. Whether you fix it yourself, or just call someone to get it done. Providing emotional comfort! Whether it requires physical or financial action! I’m sure a woman would appreciate you fixing the tire yourself or calling someone to fix it, either way, just getting it done regardless

  • @MakiahRoam
    @MakiahRoam13 күн бұрын

    In my opinion, you're describing a person who is assertive and dependable. A "provider" is a giver, a supplier, or a donor which is why we tie finances to it so naturally. Fixing the tire is one thing but actually paying for the service would be another.

  • @jas1565
    @jas15657 күн бұрын

    We don't need to alter the definition of what a provider is. Words have meanings. Making decisions or taking charge doesn't make someone a provider, it could mean they're reliable with good leadership qualities but that doesn't make a man a provider.

    I’d like to start by saying Jalen seems like a decent person, who is genuinely working on being a good partner. However, engaging manosphere talking points is as toxic as he feels sprinkle sprinkle is. For this particular discussion they are two sides of the same coin. Whether or not him and his lady enjoy 50/50 is none of my concern, but please don’t use toxic to counter toxic.

    You should never casually be dating. The whole point of dating is to find your life partner. And if the person you are dating wants to do inappropriate content for other men's pleasure, that is not your life partner. If you are doing that while we are dating, what's stopping you when we're married?
