Does that little nickel size screw cover on the bottom snap over the screw head or screw over it. I need to remove mine to paint the door.
@Bunkerz3711 ай бұрын
On the bottom there is a weep hole. You can use a small flat screwdriver and gently pry it off. I say gently so you don't bend it out of shape. Then it will easily snap right back on. It technically seats onto the washer. Good luck it's super easy.

There's a washer on the screw you use on the hole. Also a small cap that covers it. So no you don't have a hole in your door that shows.

@@Bunkerz37 I'm wondering why the current handles require the hole, but homes from the late 90s and early 2000s that came with same general style of handle somehow just screw into the door itself and not through it.

What size drill bit did you use for the bottom?
@Bunkerz373 жыл бұрын
11/32" is the bit I used. You have to go in and out the other side pretty straight. I think the instructions say to use 1/4" bit. That seem big to me but the bottom front handle on the outside and the washer for the inside would cover that size hole.

Yes mine are always open. But I do new construction, so they have to make the keys match other door handles for the house. Probably something similar for you.
