Why should i keep breath for 30 seconds?
Signal Time Elevate Look up Ascend
that is very useful.
Tank straps, bcd check, reg check, are all things each diver should be doing for themselves. Buddy weights and gear releases are a quick visual check.
Weigh belt tails shouldn't be longer than 8 inches past release buckle.
For the B in the Buddy Check I would also include oral inflation of your own BCD. It's just a good reminder 🤙
This is such a great resource! Thank you!
Great video! Thank you!
I see fins in the ground. Does PADI allow skills while not in trim or not neutrally buoyant? Why are fin tips touching the bottom on a pro level demonstration?
I was about to ask the same thing....I believe they need to be neutrally buoyant now....

I, weees, gout, dive, o, n,
You forgot multiple things which are importand when checking the bcd use the inflator with the mouth aswel. With checking the mouthpice smell the air first when checking the air both should use first and secondaire mouthpice from one set to check Ps thats how i am learning the divemaster course
I had to do this once when my 1st stage froze and my primary and octo both began free flowing. My tank emptied out shortly after I hit the surface. Luckily I was only down around 30 feet.
I don’t get the point of the skill unless you cave diving but that’s a whole different chapter
So calm! I'm watching this to be prepared before my refresher
That demonstration used all the advantages of a steel cylinder and a weight belt. I don’t think that’s the configuration that most students have. Most are using aluminum cylinder and may have a weight integrated BCD. If that is the case, it is much more difficult to do this skill. I’d like to see a demonstration with an aluminum cylinder and a weight integrated BCD and see how fluid it looks. I’ll be watching and waiting for that video.
It is very theatrical indid.
Nice❤
you guys look so dorky
Got my skill circuit tomorrow, wish me luck❤
Just a wonderful video. Thank you thank you
I would never let my buddy touch my tank valves.
It helped a lot, thank you for sharing this.
you should sniff the air first before taking a breath
shouldnt you also sniff each others arm pits to make sure the water wont be polluted?
@@mellamodiego8458you sniff because if the air isnt fresh it can cause sickness to youre body
@@mellamodiego8458 you might as well.... you've done everything else
come on now ... why are you tanks hanging so low ?
...and, why do Aussies always speak with that annoying inflection? Like everything is a question
@@MadMax31577 well played. Gurus drive me mad. Why do frogs jump ?Why is night dark ? How is water wet ? Where do clowns come from ?
We used to call that doff and don
Good skills
Question. What is purpose of this excessive? Leaking?
There are cases where an LPI button can get stuck (e.g. when not cleaned in fresh water after a dives in salt water). If that happens, the BCD will fully inflate and make you very positively boyant and send you to the surface in an uncontrolled manner (too fast). So its good to practice disconnecting the LPI as a basic skill.
@@benjaminbergau3047 you opened my eyes to a situation that had never crossed my mind!! Thank you!!
@@boggycreekmafia8124I was wonder the same, Why would you even need to do that....Never heard of a LPI button failing but I guess it could happen but I think the video needs to be about 10 second longer showing you deflating the over inflated BCD, calling the dive and heading to the surface and reconnecting the hose at the surface or manually inflating the bcd. If you are disconnecting hoses under water, lots of stuff happening and none of it is very good.
Very good, simple and conseist. My only concern is that you should never open valves to the stop, always back it off a little bit. So, fully open, back a quarter of a turn. If its on the stops, and we dive, it could get stuck in the open position.
GUESS WHAT ! these days they do not want you to do a 1/4 turn back ! I have been doing it for the last 43 years and never ever had a problem .
@@diverdave4056 Really? Why don't they want that 1/4 turn back? Admittedly its been a while since I've dived but that got ingrained into me.

@@diverdave4056 Thank you! Just watched it!
You’re sitting on the floor with your knees. … not good.
why not?
1. You learn to use a floor to change your mask 2. May not be available in open water. (I.e. above a drop off, or deep water). 3. You may crush anything below you.
@@EricBurgers-qc6oxdid you complete the divemaster course?
