Beautiful bike and sounds just perfect. It was my dream bike when I was 17. As they used to say, "BMW the Rolls Royce of motorcycles"

Hi, looking to buy this model - how do you find the clutch operation heavy?
@alexwilliams7112 Жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on the condition. Mine was v smooth : ). Beautiful definitive mechanical feel. I had a 75/5 which was smoother still. Thank for looking : )

Look into the Airhead Beemer Club, there may be some guys near you who own these bikes, most well-maintained airheads have decent clutch operation, solid but not heavy. If it's too heavy, there's something wrong ( may be a worn throw out bearing in the trans? Others with more experience can chime in).

As a long time owner of BMW motorcycles you should NEVER leave a running BMW on it’s side stand. As you pointed out the side stand is spring loaded and if the bike slightly moves forward it will fall over. I’ve seen it happen quite often. The center stand is the best way to go unless you are quite near by.

Learned that the hard way when my R90/6 tipped over in my alley at idle… on the plus side, I discovered my headlamp assembly was only held by 2 -3 retaining clips (when the fall caused it to pop off ) so I ordered the correct number !

Hi Cliff! When the lever is horizontal fuel is off. When the lever (long end) is pointing/hanging down it is on, and when the lever (long end) is pointing/standing up, in is in reserve. "Pointing down, go down the road!", "Pointing up, fill 'er up!"

Alex, it’s actually the reverse. I thought it was this way at first too. It’s the longer lever side that point at your position. So lever up for on and down for reserve. Beautiful bike!
