Thank you. I've really enjoyed these three episodes.
I made mine today and it's working perfectly. Paul your videos have had a tremendously positive impact on my life, thank you for all your efforts
I’d like to see him finish the process with the miter joints. What will happen when he carries the rectangle around? I feel pretty sure I can do that rebate, but I don’t think I understand what the instruction that he’s giving me for the mitre. ‘ be magic like me’. doesn’t really sound like him. .
sew that hole in your shirt, Paul! It'll make you feel so fucking good.
Hi Paul. I bought an old Stanley No. 4 from ebay. I tried plaining w/ my left hand once and it slipped and cracked the sole. So I bought a Stanley No. 5 figuring I might be able to do some jointing. But for both of these planes I find that the tote is too short and crimps my larger hands. Possible to make a tote that is taller for these planes?
🙏🙏🙏
Did you learn this in jail ?🤔
I hold the saw upsideside down and cut forwards through some boards. Some handles suit it others don't.
Hello Paul. Fan of yours for several years. What is your take on Rob Cosman‘s most recent method of making dovetails? I must be brain damaged, I can’t make good dovetails either your way or Rob’s way. I’ve got all the right tools as well.
That's why you need push saws... You can really put in the torque with a push saw that you can't with a pull saw.
Yet another great video covering many if not all aspects of router plane use. Thanks, Paul for sharing your expertise.
Paul, thank you for what you are doing. You’re an excellent teacher and always have terrific projects that you explain and demonstrate how to do this. I wish I would have found your channel years ago. I’m retired and need a hobby and am enjoying woodworking. Thank you again .
Do you us the reflection of the wood on the blade to check for squareness of the cut?
Hopefully the coward that attacked you wasn't someone that didn't belong in your country. The new generation is a bunch of losers that can't support themselves and have absolutely nothing to offer to the human race. Glad your getting better and hope you never run into problems again.
what make of knife do you use
Thanks for useful video.
Picked up one of these on the side of the road. The guy was set up next to his truck and sold it for $7! Thanks for explaining what this type of plane is for! Looks useful.
What marking knife do you use
I love my little English stanley 60 1/2, its' narrow body is great for small work and fits my hand well. I do use a no.3 or 4 for work of a bigger scale.
perfect workpiece to learn grain directions
I do the vertical saw a lot when doing long panel rips.
Reminds me of being a little kid and trying to use my Dad's much abused saw. Then I saw the "Old Guy" at the hardware store sharpening a saw. Saved up my bottle money and got my Dad's saw sharpened for Father's Day
My father inlelaw tought me to saw like this. Use less steam and i can also saw left handed. ;-) hope your recovering from the busted ribs Paul.
Still wondering why Paul never drill most of the mortise first
Thank you for advice Mr. Sellers.
I've been diving into these older videos and that method of checking for the twist with winding sticks is the first time I have ever seen something like that. Awesome advice.
Paul you are a joy to watch. Not sure about when this was filmed have you recovered from your injuries?
injuries?
Yes he was bitten by an inland taipan in Warrington uk.
Get the f out! Poor Paul! @@lawncarewithtim4896
@@lawncarewithtim4896 he made a video about it
I built one of these and it works perfectly
That saw sounds sharp... 😏
I probably shouldn't try this with one of my Japanese saws.
Yep, I definitely do this.
🇮🇪 small hand saw looks great too
somehow I actually did this naturally
I have never been taught, but this is how I have always done it. I must be a natural. Hahahahaha.
Same
I always change the postion of the saw when I need to so it feels more comfortable.
I invented that also on my own! :-)
Same here guys. Never thought about "techniques" but thisbis exactly how it goes for me.
get better soon
This guy really is the chiselmeister! My chiselling never works out this way!
I purchased one of these. I expected it to come rough. I flattened the soul, sharped the blade, trued the blade seat, smoothed the rough adjuster flanges, sharpened the cap iron due to jamming. It was beyond repair. The cap iron does not span the gap and is able to turn all the way sideways past the ears in both directions. The blade seat is too wide allowing the blade to move side to side while working, the adjusters are aluminum and are damaged every time its used by grooving the flange and not allowing for remotely fine adjustment, random major changes in cut depth. I got a bad one or the people now manufacturing them have given up entirely. There is no reason to spend money on Stanley anymore when there are far better companies making far more precise and reliable products for the same price. - Miserable in Missouri... NO MORE STANLEY!
Il libro e i DVD sono solo in lingua inglese? Grazie.
I just watched a Red Krueger video that gave you credit and a report of being injured. I have been a vocational school trained Woodworker for 58 years and your videos have always given me more skill sets. No matter your education or experience, your videos will always share improvements or altogether better ways to accomplish the task in hand. By the end of this video you are back and I sincerely hope you stay that way. I'll be watching more videos the next month as I just broke both wrists playing pickleball. Keep them coming. I need the company:)
Continuing a beautiful legacy…See you then
The angle is the most critical aspect. Thanks for the video. I'm not as meticulous, so I have 2 sets of chisels. One set for fine work. One set that can be abused. And I never loan my good set to anyone.
I am slow listening to Paul; those of us in the woodworking community are disheartened by the act of cowardice perpetuated upon him. God bless you and yours - as well as those who assisted you Brother get well our prayers are with you.
Wow, fantastic skill. Seeing the process for creating one of these makes me grateful for the CNC options we have these days. Lovely work, good sir.
Paul, my prayers are with you. As you recover take your time. Thanks
I made a couple of these. I still like Paul's folding stanley knife best
Add surface insulation to garage
God, I love watching you work. Such a great teacher.
