What do you need the magnet for? The counter weight resets the trap. 3 inches of water with some dish soap does the rest Send us your address and we can mail the living mice to your house !

Hello ,i am actually having "fun" with 2 (or 3?) mouses too ^^ ,and i knew i could never catch them ,so i tried to build my own trap first ,before watching this video. and my idea was actually oiling the ground of a bit deeper bucket too ,with some baits into it. and now i am really happy ,that I didnt even had the IDEA of filling it with water ,because if possible i wanted to get them in there ,and let them out in a park ,only a 5 minutes walk away. now i have modified the bucket with this falling bridge + magnet + some snacks + the hope i dont hurt them. I never had to deal with these BEASTS ; - ) ,and my first thoughts really were like ,I need a chainmail armor and a flamethrower or something ,it needed a while till i got this bucket idea for myself. i will make an edit if it works!

Hello Zaman Craft, I have watched and enjoyed many of your videos over the years. Please review my trap design in the attached video and confirm my findings or identify any shortcomings. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nHiotLCDgdm8eZs.html&ab_channel=OldGuyDIY I think I have developed the ultimate low cost ($6) DIY bucket mouse trap. I have been using bucket traps for years and have been disappointed with the peanut butter bait melting away and needing to be reapplied in hot environments. My new design incorporates a removeable bait cup that the mice can't touch but can smell and if the bait melts, it is still contained. The roofing nail I used as a counterweight to speed the teeter totter reset may or may not be of value. Thank you for your time.

Use Nestlé Morsels (chocolate chips) instead, they like that better than PB.

Faulty design. The plate does not flip back after the rat drops down in the bucket

I used to have a cat and he was so good at keeping the house clean of mice 😢 I swear, we didn't see one for years when he was around! He's been gone for a few months now (Rest in peace, Oliver 💔) and now that it's spring, for the past week I've seen a mouse running around the house 😭 I tried using peppermint oil and it kept him at bay for about 2 days until I guess the smell wore off and I woke up this morning to him running around my room and I've decided I've had enough! I'm gonna make a trap like this today and set it up and hope for the best 🤕

This trap won't hold a mouse for very long. Mice are capable of finding a way out of this trap. The trap section, won't stop a mouse from escaping

What food did u put ontop. Was it peanuts glued on and peanut butter??

Yes, it's peanuts. I didn't have peanut butter so I used peanuts with glue. You can use peanut butter if you want, that's even better.
