  I actually wanted to try RHEL for doing 3D because that is what Dreamworks and Disney use for their stuff. Windows is getting on my nerves and my Mac as much as I enjoy Mac OS doesn’t support the games I want to play.

  Only the package manager and DE will be different. Everything else remains the same. And many programs will work better. For example, Substance Designer if you have the old perpetual version, in .rpm format, it works out of the box. Same for Da Vinci Resolve.

  @@abhiraaid ok, so I tried that, but I noticed your Steam recognizes that you have a controller attached, whereas my system recognizes my controller (I can use it on GOG, for instance) but Steam doesn't even register it at all.

  @@HankBaxter In that case it could be Specific to Steam. Usually Steam remaps all my keys properly by itself, I don't remember but there are a couple of things you can do in Steam, in the Steam Settings.

  I use the Kubuntu Linux distro. Does this program work on it? I have a problem with Steam detecting controller vibration. The control model is an 8bitdo snpro+. If anyone could help me I would be grateful.

  Linux Mint Xfce user here. I tried with many commands I found on Google and I can't install APKs outside Google Play Store. :( I even tried just opening APK file on the emulator; didn't work. Edit: I forgot to update this. The issue was because lack of ARM support. Just search on KZread and you will find solutions if you have the same issue.

  Sadly, this is an issue. Incompatibilities are to be expected. Also Playstore doesn't have all games available on Waydroid.

  Very helpful! For using copy/paste to get the certification id I was able to just enter the Waydroid shell via terminal my normal desktop while Waydroid was running in Weston. I didn't need to use the terminal nor web browser from weston at all.

  how can we control the scale of the instances with a gradient ramp? so the length of the curve is mapped as the ramp, and the scaling is controlled by the white/black of the ramp, representing the length. so i can have smaller object at a certain paart of curve.

  Some Updates on the ZBrush: For ZBrush 2024, use the runner as lutris 7.1 instead of lutris 6.0 Known Issues: - Decimation master not working (fix- use ZBrush 2022 with lutris 6.0 like mentioned in the video) - Losing pressure Sensitivity after using mouse (fix: Use Virtual Desktop with proper resolution, to move that Window around you need to "Toggle fullscreen mode"[look for that in your Settings under Keyboard]) - Losing pressure Sensitivity after using pop up windows like File manager ( No known Fixes [the Virtual Desktop does mitigate it to some extent but it's not a proper solution for this problem])

  I'm a long time Zbrush user, unfortunately, and I have these pesky problems with pressure sensitivity bugs while running it on Linux. And it sucks, because I really wanted to transition my whole desktop computer to Linux, but Zbrush is still not supported and works with glitches, literally every other piece of software is working perfectly. I really want to enjoy my gnome environment with my professional apps... Pen pressure always, I mean ALWAYS stops working when you open file explorer in Lutris, Bottle or any Wine instance, you can reproduce it 100 percent of the time by pressing CTRL + O to open File Explorer and open any file, a new instance of Zbrush would pop up and tablet pressure is gone. I'm currently using a workaround and basically in Preferences panel you can make Zbrush always open last project file, but it is a hacky way of doing it. Decimation master and all the rest of the plugins work fine on version 7+ and above of wine, so I don't know why you particularly telling us to use 6.0, the only problem is goddamn wine's File Explorer. I'm pretty sure there is a way of doing something about it and we will basically have fully functioning Zbrush in Linux! But I don't know what to do... I'm about to revert back to Windows if I'm not going to be able to make Zbrush as I have clients to serve, and this bug really breaks the flow...

  how are you sure there's no internet? there are known instances of browser not working properly, I think it's an IP thing.check if google.com works

  Thank you for the tutorial. I have been working on trying to get a proper orintation of a car on a track been wanting the car z axis to be inline with the tracks z axis. So if I adjust the tilt the car will stick to the track

  Hello! I have an issue where in ZBrush (2022.0.5_FL) I get kinda like 2 "phases" of pen pressure. First time I interact with my pen it is super sensitive, but if I reach a pressure threshold, the pressure resets and it makes it very hard to use. I attached a picture to make things more clear. In the picture I did one continuous pen strike, where I only pressed harder.   So you have the pen pressure working but it's resetting back to 0 after a certain threshold. If I had to guess it's a mismatch between what Linux's tablet driver is detecting and what the wine layer's tablet drivers are detecting. It's just a guess at this point. You could try tweaking the falloff curve of pen pressure within your tablet driver application, and also in ZBrush and try to make it work in sync.

  Ah, this issue is thanks to new versions of Blender. I've heard Windows users complaining this as well. I'm using 4.1 Alpha, this is not there for me, these days . Just launch it using Dedicated Graphics card. There's many ways to do that.

  Weston have a timeout it seems, you should be able to change it by editing weston.ini file somewhere in .config folder. Just edit the parameter idle-time=0

  I followed this guide a couple of months ago and it worked like a charm. Unfortunately, it had a bunch of quirks (like a save file interface from the mid 90s) that I chose to ignore but after I got my Space Mouse Enterprise working in Pop OS Zbrush could not be navigated with it which was the final straw that broke the camels back. The straw piled on top of it was that my license got corrupted and I could not run the Pixologic License Manager.exe no matter what I did in lutris or wine so I deactivated it from the website and installed a virtual machine through Virtual Box. Installed ZBrush on it and it runs fantastically that way. It was a fun experiment while it lasted though.

  Are you remapping your keys inside of Pop Os too? I can't see any Linux drivers for SME. Even if you're remapping in Linux, it still registers the original keys in wine. So it's tricky if that's the case.

  As someone who primarily games and wanted to switch to Wayland, I am back on X11, and here is why. 1) Wayland does not work with most IP KVM's (such as Barrier and Synergy). I use Synergy to control my Linux Touchscreen Laptop when at home. I would have found an alternative to this if it wasn't for problem #2 2) Wayland has major issues with locking the mouse to the windows of games, while X11 does it perfectly. Full screen games will find themselves having the mouse drug out of the window. This is not as big of an issue on single-monitor setups, but a dual monitor setup this is a disaster of the full-screen gaming minimizing and then reopening 3) This just tails onto #2 basically, but another issue of it. Windowed games cannot lock the mouse to them under Wayland. This means, if you're playing a FPS or TPS in Full Screen Window with dual monitor, your mouse will just leave the game window every time you scroll that direction. 4) Wayland, for my testing to date, just was not as stable on top of that. This could be something with my setup, but my touch screen tablet (ASUS Z13) had a lot of issues with Wayland, touch screen support, and stability, especially with recognizing and utilizing the RTX 3050 ti, that literally was 0 issue when I switched back to X11

  @@abhiraaid Problem with stripes in the viewport Zbrush, This is an old problem that has existed for a long time in Wine. To do this, you need to use the substitution DLL. I just use portProton instead of Lutris, everything works fine there initially, but I can't solve the pen pressure problem.

  Blender is so much faster. Not to say, every other native program out there is faster. As for games, you'll need wine/proton. It is a tiny bit slower, but it can run just the same. Leaving the Windows behind is a choice only you can make.

Gaming is not much important for me I am making a short animation movie and if I will be able to have same workflow faster in linux I wont look back.

  The truth is you can't use cracked versions in Linux, like Windows. I recommend steam version. Windows is forever cursed with anti virus softwares and cracks If you have Substance Designer rpm files with Licence, you can use it, as shown in one of the methods. Adobe makes it difficult to download rpm files from Pop!_Os but you can still get it.
