i can’t find the second one
Thanks for this video, will try it soon. I wonder if there a way to show only the (customized) landscape line in Stellarium? In other words, allow stars below the line to show through.
I don't need to see my surroundings on my screen. I would like to be able to make the ground lower on my screen.
Nice one, just what I'm looking for
Thanks, very helpful!
Very helpful. Thank you mate
bittube.tv/post/99c99e66-a66e-481c-95d6-9ee30f40c29d ... turn up your iso .. you will see the truth !!! enjoy ;-)
Thanks for sharing this great walk-through. I'm appreciate your work!
I had trouble moving my compass points around until I renamed the angle_rotates to a Z = xxx and placed it higher in the text file good video. thanks type = spherical maptex = everest.png angle_rotatez = 260 [location] planet = Earth latitude = +33d05'42" longitude = +96d16'29" altitude = 164
This is great thanks for the instructional! I use Stellarium scope and Stellarium to control where I image. Now I need to get pano's from 2 of the DSS's I use and also my heavily polluted (Bortle 8-9) sky at home where I mainly conduct tests before packing up and heading to a DSS. This will give me much better planning accuracy for an evening. Well here I am a year later and actually ready to give this a shot now that I have a decent pano from my park OBS. Getting the editing done using GIMP is my only hurdle at this point so need to learn a couple of tools then I should have it. If I do it properly then I'll be able to plan a session from any of my pc's where I have Stellarium installed. My home OBS is where I plan to shoot everything and not have to travel as much. I am now using a cooled mono cam with all the filters plus a Optolong L Pro to take care of the local LP. Thanks again for sharing!
mine is not showing in Stellarium?
This is really great! Thank you so much for doing it! I followed the instructions and was successful in getting my back yard into Stellarium. It's soooo cool!
You're explaining well how to calibrate azimuth by setting north. How to calibrate elevation as well ?
Hello. I found a solution to calibrate elevation, if it might help someone : - Measure the angular height in ° of a tall building or tree, using a clinometer or a phone app - Measure this same height in pixels on the picture - Extrapolate the amount of pixels needed for 180° - Enlarge the picture to this height in pixels. You need to calculate how much to add up and down, in order to get the horizon exactly in the middle - Note that the picture doesnt seem to need being of a precise size like 1024, a random size worked for me Now the sun is setting down the right building corner, so I assume it worked right
thank you so much for taking the time to make this video, it helped me get my landscape sorted, all the best
when i import the landscape, stellarium accepts it, but then everything is sky.
My problem too. Did you solve the problem?
Thanks for this tutorial - worked a treat! I just need to redo the panorama photo as the two ends didn't quite match up - so I'll take a bit more care with the next one :)
I don't have much sky. But I have even less PhotoShop.
use paint.net
followed these instructions without too much trouble but the custom folder is not visible when I open Stellarium can you advise please
I have the same problem. Did you manage to fix it?
No not yet looked at other instructions they all say the same have a fruen looking at it who is s software developer if I get a solution I will post it here.
@@alanjose1724 ok will do the same if I find a solution.
@@alanjose1724 so I got it to work. You have to make sure there are section titles for [Landscape] and [Location] in the ini file. Then the custom landscape appeared in the landscape options when I restarted stellarium. My picture was crap though so I might need to do that bit again.
Cheers will give it a try
Great - Thank you - Really useful. Now I can appreciate how little sky I can see in Stellarium as well as when out in the garden with the telescope. :-)
The powerseeker 127eq wasnt bad I have it and still use it today and it was my first scope.
Hope you are well. First thanks for a set of very clear instructions. If my health holds over the next few weeks then this is something i will do. I think this is one of the best videos on this subject. I saw an article on this subject in this months' sky at night and it was not clear at all. Thanks.
The happy 100 dollar medium is the Celestron Powerseeker 114eq. Genuine newtonian, long focal length, and craps on the 127mm bird jones counterpart
Thanks for sharing. Great video and instructions. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while
Brilliant. Thank you so very much for your efforts.

@@FaqUrNwoBS oh didnt see it, ty
Hey, hello. Can someone please tell me how will a tabletop reflector telescope perform on messier objects from a light polluted city? And if those small telescopes could offer good planetary detail if pushed to their maximum usefull magnifications with barlows and short FL eyepieces? I'm interested in MEADE'S lightbrige MINI (82mm, 300 mm FL), CELESTRON'S firstscope (76mm , 300mm FL) or ORION'S funscope (76mm , 300mm FL). Is it worth the buy if I will use it mostly from a light polluted area, tHANK YOU.
Superb, thanks!
Cool technique. Thanks
Very cool!!
Ah! got it, I needed to get my horizon centered better in the resizing stage, thx
Hi, I had an older version of a custom landscape, but this much better, although I have one issue I can't seem to solve ! my image horizon is about 12 deg too low at -12 and not zero ? can you help please.
if your horizon is set too low you will need to go back to the part when we back filled below the image horizon, you will need to raise your image and fill the void. this should push everything up, if you have very large trees you might find you need to clip some of the tree tops
Thanks, I got it now, cheers
Just for anyone else the bottom of you panorama image should be roughly centre page
Thanks for this. I had been thinking of doing one as I have only a good view of maybe half the sky and some very large trees. I'll give it a shot.
I thought Meade Starnavigator was not too bad.
Short tube bird jones design scope.
You can see stuff with them, but they basically create their own light pollution, so when you start taking pictures of nebulae to registax, you will have issues chasing colors. Even if your intention is to drag it out of the garage a couple times a year, then your money is still not well spent on the focal length bird-jones offers, because you will never get it aligned properly! Unfortunately, theyre popularity outweighs their flaws, and people end up with something they cant use very quickly
Nice images done by all who got into the video. :)
Nice Charlie!! Thanks for putting in the effort on putting these videos out. :)
So many good photos! Good job everyone who entered the contest!
Awesomeness!!!😱
we are kinda cool
Yeah Awesome....That was cool if i can see them too, thanks bro.
Awesome!
I saw mine! That music though...!o.0!
Following on like a happy puppy!
