Hi Nick, great video thanks, luckily my 7100 is working well. My 5100 on the other hand has a rotation issue and will only spin if I toggle the speed selector fast, if I leave it set on either speed the platter stops. I assume a clean of the switch and possibly pots will be required but that will have to wait a while. I cannot find a service manual or schematic for the 5100 anywhere, even on vinylengine - I would appreciate any help finding one. Keep up the interesting videos.

Hi i'have minipro dyno is possible help me for setting voltage and value parameter for best motor? Thanks
@ominousnefarious591917 күн бұрын
Fantastic help that was. I bought a sensored motor that was in bad shape, bad enough that i got a full refund & got to keep the motor. The rotor looked like it was stored in maximum humidity somewhere near the equator in thr tropics for a decade unprotected! Not being able to have something sitting around that may be able to be fixed I started to work on it, I found I had a Rotor from the "motor-death-box of spare parts" that was spot on the same. Next I found the sensor test showed the sensors numbers were EXTREMELY far apart. Remembering your videos i did a quick Google search KNOWING you would have a video to help. And help you did! Now the sensors are great and the motor actually runs very well! Its a 13.5t sensored and its now powering a 1/10 rally car and giving anyone that drives it a big smile on their face. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK, taking time to make these videos and sharing them with us all !

90% of videos on KZread and advice from family and friends, have informed me not to put a warped vinyl record into a heated oven, pressed between two sheets of glass, BUT to rather to place the record with its inner sleeve wrapped in a new bin bag, sandwiched in between two heavy pieces of granite, with another heavy object on the top for more added weight and let gravity do its bit. Heat is by far, the worst solution for a warped record, due to the grooves containing the music, the signal and the quality of the recording, to get damaged !

Hi I’ve just bought a Murphy majorette, looks inside very similar to what your maintaining, so I’ve checked most of what you recommend. I’m afraid to go far as I’ll probably break something ! Thanks for the great detailed descriptions I’ve tried to add a photo to ask which type of connector I’ll need to use the EXT speaker socket.

correct if wrong, but could you not just hold the head degausser in place where you held that magnet and it would do the same thing? that way you would get the proper AC magnetic field required to erase the tapes and there would be no leftover magnetism on anything ? thank you

Thanks for this. My SP-PS70 was skipping on the later tracks, 14 and beyond. Instead of a donor laser unit, I followed your video and took the cover off, and cleaned the slider that the laser moves along with a dry cotton bud. Checked it was sliding freely by tilting the player body and it looked fine. Put back together and now playing perfectly. 5 minute fix. Much appreciated.

still have it with a B series system my father bought when released with a extra pair of huge studer speakers, later he bought one more deck the B215 and the CD player this in the 80´s, this turntable if working correctelly i have to say it´s perfect, but i have also in use the 79 SL-1000MKII with a technics MC cartridge and it´s pre (similar referencies)has we lived 800KM´s to a hi-fi shop when driving there we used to buy eachother stylus to our turntables cartridges ,the reason why today i still have new stylus from late 70´s cartridges, my Revox had always a Ortofon cartridge in the inside the rectangular box that rotates to the top of the record, this brand used to have great cartridges ,today i think the worst cartridge i ever heard is the 2MRED from Ortofon, it´s sad to see this brands go to the bottom of quality and today cartridges are also not like older ones as the stylus as 1/4 of the regular stylus size also 1/3 of the hours of use, this to not refer the prices asked , agod cartridge was always expensive but today are incredible expensive and the quality is not a improvement but a decrease in general, some new AT cartridges surprised me in a positive way this refering to the MC type, the AT-ART7 is one of them the AT-ART1000 is very nice but price wise it´s incredible, i think i´ll never spend 5.000€ in a cartridge as i still have some 70´s cartridges working perfect and have still original stylus to substitute, and i´m not getting younger , nice videos you have ,it´s subscribed , thank you and regards

to protect the groves from distortion. this way of doing knows some risk of failure, if the record plays without skip and it's a rare vinyl dont try it :)
