    If you've just spent all that money redecorating a room and putting a new floor in to turn it into a studio/office. Then why didn't you get a sparky in to stick some new socket's in, turn the single sockets you've already got into doubles and rewire the lighting so you can put in wi-fi switches. That'd be such an easy job for a sparky as the D/B's (fuse board) right there! Easy cash in hand job as it'd be done within a day with just one person. It'll be a long day if it's just one person as it'll take over twice as long because there are quite a few things that are a 2 man job. You can do 2 man bits by yourself, but it'll take almost 3 times as long.

    Plenty of expansion gap, 10-20mm the whole way around. probably cant tell from the vid, but the floor sits under the plastered wall, which had a lot off space the whole way round, I made sure of that. Floor has been down for years now, no issues with expansion and contraction at all.

    Hi, I thought if you lay down plastic damp proof membrane, you have to put a screed over it? I've got the same issue on my living room concrete floor and I'm considering my options

  • @MegaVinny73

    The thick plastic sheeting at Wickes is what I used if that helps, at the time it was about £6-7 a pack. Who knows what it costs today with all the price rises, but shouldnt be a lot more. Don't use thin cheap stuff, but the wickes one is tough and durable and does the job no problem, so long as the floors are good and there arent any damp issues already. It's just to stop any moisture the concrete floor transfers up, to the underlay and boards. I laid it so it ran up the edges and walls a few inches, then trimmed it off once the floor was fully laid. This should stop any creeping moisture from the edges, in. As long as the plastic sheeting is rot proof, it should be ok. This is just my experience and opinion however.

    I would go with at least the minimum recommended PSU and a good brand one at that. The Xtreme has 3 power connectors, I believe these Master and Xtreme are the most OC out the box. Though out the box they need some tweaking. Also check the BIOS switch on the card, probably set to Boost OC. I put mine in "Quiet mode" as it was max clock speed constantly and 100% fans otherwise, therefore hot, loud and consuming too much power at idle unncessarily. I also use Afterburner and Riva Statistics Tuner Server. Afterburner allowed me to set and manage the fan power curve better than the Gigabyte software. If it was me, I wouldnt attempt to run this card on a 750W PSU...

    From the MSI burner, it is showing that the GPU is running at 1830MHz. I don't think the gpu is running that high when it is idle. Maybe that's why the temp was as high as 52 degrees. I have a 2080ti, so when I am not running any game the GPU clock is running at 315MHz.

  • @vktechtv4244
    @vktechtv42442 жыл бұрын

    This 3080 Ti has two physical settings on the card itself. Out the box, it comes hard set in overclock mode, 1830Mhz is the base speed. it then boosted to 2300+ on initial tests, which is insane. Thats when I was getting all sorts of stutters and fps drops. Its also why the fans ran max speed (though thats also just rubbish Gigabyte drivers sitting on top of the NVidia drivers) and why the card was hittin 83-85c in initial tests. It should come out the box on the non hard OC setting. Once I set that, it mellowed the card out. Its sites at 210mhz idle now and 30-31c. However, it still runs hot in gaming, 76-79c once its warmed up, tending to sit at 77-78 with the odd peak at 79. And I've set custome fan curves too, tried many to get it running as cool and best I can. fps is now good to very good at 1600P (my monitor is 16:10) or when DSR to 2263P so a notch up from 2160P, as its a 16:10 monitor. At 1600P I get really good FPS and yes now noticably improved over the 2080 Super, which is no slouch. But... is the 3080 Ti worth the money... I think I'll do another vid on that in the next few days.

    Did you check this in 4k? Because fps will improve in 4k resolution. Also, seems like you have your card installed right above the power supply which is already hot making it difficult for the card to keep cool? 3080ti should be around 40% faster than 2080ti or 2080 super from the other reviews I have seen.

    Hi, where did you get the sagging support bracket? Thanks and good video!

  • @vktechtv4244
    @vktechtv42442 жыл бұрын

    Hello. Bracket I ordered on Amazon, searching for GPU support bracket. The UpHere one looked adequate and is. But check which you are getting, some are not as thick/deep looking and probably only ok for smaller cards. This one is deeper and a bit more robust, but isnt 100% solid, though it should take the weight off the end of the card with no support. You'll also need to work out where to mount the support against the GPU card, so it doesnt foul any of the fans or parts of the card it shouldnt. Though it has plenty of adjustment. I think it was £8.99 delivered and arrived quickly.
