I'm a harpist & composer based in the North West U.K & I'm a bit of a harp nerd. As well as composing, playing & teaching lever & pedal harps, I do lots of harp related things; blogging since 2010, arranging music for harpists of all standards, providing mentoring for harpists, organising harp events, as well as being active in the harp community to provide opportunities for all harpists. I also co-founded a not for profit concert series in my home town which supports local young musicians as well as providing paid gigs for professional musicians.

Hi Lauren, heard your collaboration for this with Amy on her channel first, & gotta say, I wish I was there in the audience haha! Amazing job, both of you. Thank you so much for sharing / posting. ;) ~T.J.
Thanks TJ! More projects with Amy happening soon 😀
@@laurenscottharp That is very enticing news! haha! -thumbup-
Hi, Love the video, I would like to learn the harp, i'm a blind or visually impaired user, but i'm an adult, 44 years old. Difficult to learn harp?
Hiya I don't see why not! Maybe do a call out on social media to chat to other blind harpists and chat to them about their experiences? Good luck with it.
Fabulous technique. Thank you for the DIY on the mallets. In the blog post you mention flexible metal handles as well. What flexible metal do you use for handles?
Thanks, glad the video on how to make your own is helpful. The superball sticks I bought were flexible metal and I bought those froma percussion shop as fully made stick with the ball on the end. But I had a quick look online and if you search thin flexible metal rods there does seem to be some that can be bought. The wooden sticks work absolutely fine though. I would try the wood first before looking at other options.
Thank you!
Wonderful!
Many thanks!
Awesome
Maganda po 💐
Buffa! 😊
The cadence calms my heart -it makes me want to breathe & dance & praise the Maker. Thank you
What kind of harp is the little one on the right side?
It's a Harp-e
Love the combination
Love your compositions in five time, I wish more people wrote in that!
Such a joyful piece I love it!
Beautiful. Is there a lever harp version?
I'm afraid not, it's too chromatic for lever harp!
❤❤❤
You have a talent like no-one else I have heard for producing tunes that are just SO evocative of their title - Gypsy Dance is another. Wow!
I love how joyful this piece is 😊
Glad you enjoy it!
Love this on your album Beyond The Horizon, it's truly beautiful. And those chords are wonderful to attempt on my nylon-string guitar.
I am trying so hard to work out the time signature - please don't tell me, I love exploring! Love how the motif comes back. X
Bravo! Learning your arrangement right now for an upcoming wedding.
Thank you, Enjoy!
You can tell the string is about to snap? Would you please check my guitar?!?!
Haha! With harp strings it's easy to tell if it's about to snap, as they start going really out of tune. You'll tune it a few times and it keeps going out of tune and it all sounds a bit rogue. Then you look closely and see that the string has a split usually at the top, and it's about to pop!
Do you still sell this arrangement anywhere? I looked and could not find it on your website.
No, but if you sign up to my newsletter I have music for little harps...
are the balls called flumies
I'm not sure Mary, perhaps that is what they are called in Germany? I know them as superballs
What a revelation! I have played this on my Horn, but never thought of playing it on the Harp; now I shall. Great idea and wonderful performance, very inspiring.
Thanks Richard, hope you enjoy playing it on the harp!!
Thank you for that wonderful performance and beautiful video. Well done.
Thanks for listening Jim
Beautiful! 💗🧚♂️
Thank you! 😊
Love the CD! Quite like that mug too.
Glad you enjoyed the CD Steve. Yes that's my favourite mug, it's from "Affairs of the Harp' website.
There is so much joie de vivre in this piece! Love it.
Thank you Kathryn!
Playing the harp standing up? I didn’t know that was even possible!
Got to love the interweaving lines. Love it!
I just saw a snippet of this on Instagram and HAD to find the whole piece to listen to - I was spellbound the whole time! Just so BEAUTIFUL, thank you! ❤
Thanks Tamsin, that's really kind of you!
That's really lovely! Thank you.
Wow, busy busy with the levers! Impressed you managed an “over the top reach” on one! I’m learning this so was keen to see how someone else managed with a lever harp. It’s lovely.
Glad you enjoyed it!
❤❤❤
Ahhh been looking forward to seeing this video after hearing about it in your live. So good! ✨️🌌✨️
Thank you Angela, glad you enjoyed!
Awesome performance and a wonderful video.
Many thanks!!
Wonderful! This piece stood out to me ever since the last video you posted. It's so beautiful and uplifting. Thanks for the share.
Thank you Christian
A thrilling new addition to the harp repertoire and a great showcase of how brilliant the lever harp and pedal harp can sound together. Bravo!
Wow! Just beautiful! Thank you!
Lots of layers and textures, sounds fabulous 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Gorgeous!
Fabulous Lauren!
Thank you Lorraine
Yes! This is what I want to hear. 🌹 I love 50s songs and Play harp, so this arrangement is perfect.
Sehr schön.
I love this Lauren . The music alone is beautiful, calming and meditative. Combined with the video however it takes you into another dimension . Bliss ❤❤
Thank you Linda x
I love your arrangement of this tune
This isn't my arrangement... it's essentially Michelle Beaumont's arrangement that I've adapted slightly.
I love this!
thank you!
bello!
Lauren So helpful for Anita’s concert tomorrow week. Thank you. 8 days to go ….
