Thanks for watching and commenting! While these bears are very well behaved, it is always good to make noise when going to change cards! It's intersting to see how much attention the various critters pay to the cameras. The camerras are all "no glow" cameras, designed so the animals don't see the IR flash. Still there's something that gets their attention, both in daylight and in the dark. Perhaps the cameras make a sound that we can't hear when they are taking photos/videos. Regardless of the reason, many species are certainly attracted to the cameras!

There are bears that come in my dad's yard in Florida regularly. One is a female who brings cubs up to eat treats from the neighbors. She's not afraid of people at all and lets the cubs be touched. I keep telling dad that it's going to end in tragedy for someone and the bears. He says it's okay. Crazy. Personally I don't want to be within 50 yards of them but I don't live there.
@garys84042 ай бұрын
Thanks for your observations. We are lucky here. We have quite a number of black bears living close to people, and in they woods they are not disturbed by the human neighbors. On the video you can hear children playing perhaps 100 feet away. The parents don't know the bear is there and the bear doesn't care that they humans are there. I'm not aware of anyone feeding the bears, at least on purpose. Occasionally the bears do get into bird feeders and garbage, yet they don't cause any problems other than a mess to clean up. For now it is nice that we get to see them once in a while and great that they have some quiet natural habitat where they can get away from people. Hopefully they don't make a habit of destroying cameras!
