    My Geo Metro with automatic and Mercedes Diesel have shorter 0-60 times. My first car was a 1960 Corvair with powerglide. I learned patience driving that car. Probably was good for me.

    That’s actually pretty darn good for only being 80HP! This thing looks to be faster than a Cadillac 350 diesel

    Nice review... I do see it after 3 years, I am looking at one now here in SA... I would probably remove the rear head rests for better visibility and a Tune does sound perfect as the car should have a bit more power for the class...

    I loved those cars as a kid, girlfriend in HS had a maroon '87 Cutlass that looked like a 442 with the wheels, I always dreamed of putting a Olds 330, 350, 400, 425 or 455 it because the late 307 was a DOG.

  • @hendo337
    @hendo3372 ай бұрын

    Sad thing is the H/O 307 made almost as much HP as the last of the Olds 455s with 180 vs 190hp, of course the TQ and Rpms were completely different and the ultimate potential. I always thought it was a genuine shame GM let the ecomentalists intimidate them into going to 307 instead of keeping the 350 available or at least bringing back the old 330ci from the 60s, same as what Chevrolet should have done instead of the trash 305, should have brought back the 327 or put a 3.48 stroke in the 307. The performance desert from the late 70s until the early 90s was insane and I can't believe we ever recovered.

    Very similar to my 68 with a 110 pg. I purposefully bought a corvair because I wanted a classic that got good mpg. The tradeoff is its slow, but I drive slow anyways so that doesnt bother me. Have my suzuki 650 for when I want to go fast.

    @@TD-il6ju if you've got the money for upkeep to modify the power steering pump from an S500 to fit after the suspension takes a dump and the pump also dies, you'll be into normal suspension and a pump for probably $2000 all told. Then it'll be pretty reliable.

    My 1st car was a 64 Corvair 500. It had a 3-speed non-syncho manual, 0-60 could be measured with an egg timer. No frills whatsoever, radio didn't even have push buttons but it returned more than 30 mpg and was fun to drive just due to it's character. Paid $125 and later sold it for $800 after painting it. Yes, I wish I still had it.

    I just scored a '93 SHO ATX in red with 51,000 miles. Been in a guys garage for over 15 years. Put in a new fuel tank, pump, and filter and she's good to go. The tires are 21 years old and flat-sided from sitting for so long, but the car is in cherry condition. Leather is a bit hard, but no cracks. Paint is excellent. Everything works!

I owned an Audi 80 GLS when my engine broke and I put one from the Passat GT 16 V in it including the complete front axle. Warm greetings from Germany.
