The ark has zero power. The mercy seat on top of the ark was where God came to dwell in the form of his choosing when offerings were made by the Levite priests. Based on pretty much everything I've ever seen on the subject, Ethiopia has a fake or several fakes. Watched a documentary decades ago on actual TV...archeologists did some detective work and figured out where the ark is...a cave in some mountain in Saudi Arabia. Found a bricked up cave with an inscription saying the ark was there. Then the Saudi military showed up. Around the clock guards. Nobody's going in.

I was on Elephantine Island in front of the still standing gate. Scratched into the stone at my feet was a crude drawing. It was a rectangle with triangles on the ends. It was encircled by triangles indicating which way to perambulate the rectangle. Directly below the platform is a chamber where it’s said the Ark was kept for a couple hundred years before moving on to Ethiopia
