    If I have a 11.9 car with 5 inch sheave and a 6.1 gear ratio and I change to a 6 inch sheave what would happen?

  • @stevenbrandow5288
    @stevenbrandow52884 күн бұрын

    With an 11.90 car you probably would not see a change. 11.90 and slower with a 6.1 gear ratio is the exception to this video, meaning it probably would not get into the overdrive portion of the sheave because it’s low on rpm at the finish line. Switching to. 6” sheave would give you the ability to go up on your gear ratio to a 6.5 or even a 7.0. Look at your tach to see if it’s getting 1 to 1 and also look at the overdrive percentage!

  • @anthonyprowog5074
    @anthonyprowog50744 күн бұрын

    Just had a look a data on the tach it’s saying over 1.1 @ 6246 +3.86s Overdrive is 140.83% @ 9.02s Max rpm is 7200 that is a 12.00 pass

    Great video Please respond I would appreciate it I am working on an older one built the same way so that nail head part of the push pin has to be against something you're saying... not open right ?? The nail head is on The Voice and your tapping on the skinny end till it starts to move through my carburetor is working but it's putting gas into my oil because the floats don't work and you can't get to that stopper underneath Which is probably bad since you know these carbs so well you should do a quick float level tutorial it's not easy thank you very much and fantastic video!!

    @stevenbrandow5288Ай бұрын

    Pros and cons of running a carb lean or fat. If the weather changes it can send you over the line of being to fat or to lean. So usually we like to keep it in the middle. I can tell you that when the weather is really hot out and the sun is shining running fatter can benefit you.

    Wouldn't a brass valve in the manifold be better and less chance of a non methanol rated piece of plastic falling apart at 10,500 rpm and actually leaning fuel out and destroy a piston ,ring set and sleeve possibly more ? Bolth would create the same situation but zero chance of it failing

  • @stevenbrandow5288
    @stevenbrandow52888 ай бұрын

    I like the way you're thinking! this plastic shut off is not alcohol rated, normally no alcohol gets up into the pulse line and into the shut off. We have had one on our car for the past 3 years with zero issues. We perform about 2 years of R&D before we sell any products to our customers. Max RPM on these motors is only 8500. Thank you for the awesome comment, keeps us on our toes.

    Do the arc rod bearings normally fit or do they need to be reworked/ground?

  • @stevenbrandow5288
    @stevenbrandow52888 ай бұрын

    The wide bearings that measure .805 wide need to be angled on the ends. The cranks usually have an angle on the edges of rod journal and the edge of the rod bearing will hit their and cause it not to spin.

    This could be an out of left field question. But has anyone ever checked what the polarity of the flywheel magnet is? Or should that be common knowledge and I’m just behind on times?

  • @stevenbrandow5288
    @stevenbrandow52889 ай бұрын

    Not completely sure on the question but what I can tell you is that the ARC flywheel has 2 North magnets and 1 South magnet. I believe the outside magnets are the North and the inner rectangular one is the South.

  • @stevenbrandow5288

    If the arms are not lined up with the ramps! If the arms are stuck and don’t move. If the damage I’ve hub bushing is really tight and the post won’t slide through it. If their is something going on with the main spring in the primary clutch.

    Other than the obvious how are the Briggs and pvl coil’s different?

  • @stevenbrandow5288
    @stevenbrandow5288 Жыл бұрын

    The PVL does not retard the timing as its running down track, where as the briggs coil pulls timing out as it runs down the track. We have tried both coils on the same motor, same day right after each other and have not found any difference in the performance.
