Greetings and welcome to my channel! The videos you see here are fun and unusual projects that I would like to share. I have been an artist of many forms my whole life and have my own way of doing things. Sometimes they don't always fit the normal process...but I think it's good to be a little different.
On this channel, I try to focus on woodworking, but sometimes I will squeeze in a few other hobbies that I enjoy to keep the video stream consistently going. My travelling locations don't always allow me to be in my wood shop, so if you're only interested in watching me make a whole lot of multi colored sawdust and don't see it for a while, please be patient because there is plenty more to come.
I have no claims of being professional during any of my demonstrations so if you learn anything from watching, please use common sense when it comes to using any kind of power tools and chemicals.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I would love to have something like this in my kitchen as well! But what I would like more is the know how and ability!!! What a blessing all the way around!! BRAVA, SO STUNNING!!!!👏👏👏👏💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍✝️🙏
Wow, thanks very much! It is the centerpiece in my kitchen, for sure! What's more is that I so enjoyed creating it, it was definitely a challenge! 😁
Finishing touches to another great project. There’s no end to your creativity.
Thank you very much! Now you'll just have to come and see it for yourself!☺️
Fun to see you get to finish him up!😊
Thank you very much! He really stands out in the forest with his colors 😊
@@myambitiousart I love him 🤩💖
@kjirstenboucher9682 thank you, I do too🥰
Oh i love this!
Thank you so much! 😊
Hi Lizzie, I'm back again. I've checked the link and I'm glad to say that it's working. In the meantime I've watched the original carving vid and found it most enjoyable. Thanks so much!
Thanks for checking, glad you are helpful...and amused!
I'm so glad you got me here eventually Lizzie - as I said in my previous message, I don't know how I missed it when it came out - it's a joy to see this sort of sculpture executed from start to finish. Well, almost finish. Now I'll go back to the colouring vid. Thanks again for all your efforts.
Thanks so much! It was definitely a fun challenge and now that he's done, I am glad I have a watcher in the woods!😄
Okay I just got here the old fashioned way. How did i miss this at the time?
I don't know...but it happens!
That was really enjoyable. The colours look well and really lift his appearance - did you say those are stains rather than paint? I've heard of these opaque stains but never tried them. Cheers Lizzie, that was fun and I'm looking forward to your next vid - but I still can't get that link to work!
Thank you. Yes, the colors are transparent, but the red was definitely thicker. Try that link again please and let me know if it works now.
I absolutely love him. My wife has gnomes hiding all over the garden and we have wild deer that visit most days for lunch.
Isn't it great coexisting with nature?! Glad he is loved, thanks very much!😄
Maybe it's just at my end Lizzie but the link in the description to the first vid doesn't seem to be working. I can't watch right now but I'll certainly be back!
Thanks for letting me know, it was an error on my part and has been corrected. Looking forward to your critique!
Maybe still doesn't work, my apologies and I'll try to figure it out
very clever. The real work of art is the frame!!
Sorry for the delay, thank you very much!😊
This is a work of art within itself!! Just the kind of out of the box thinking I was looking for! Amazing job
Well, thank you very much! Glad to be an inspiration 😊
This is a wonderful gnome!! I'm about ready to carve my 1st ever tree stump into a lighthouse. Your video was a great one to watch to give me confidence to use my son's chainsaw. Thanks for making this video!!!❤❤
Thank you very much! Good luck and please be safe with the chainsaw!😉
Best work.❤
Thank you very much! ☺️
@@myambitiousart Really, a quite skillful artist. 👍👍
FANTASTIC !! Thanks so much for sharing 😀
My pleasure! Thank you for watching, glad you like it!😊
Absolutely ingenious! I would never have thought of this. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks very much...boredom begets creativity! ☺️
This is gorgeous and so clever. It wasn’t exactly what I’d been looking for however it’s WAY better than my original idea. Thank you so much for your gracious sharing.
Thanks so much! I hope it left you with inspiration and good luck !😊
I have watched this video of yours several times and have utilized different aspects of it for my own paintings. Thank you ❤
That makes me very happy to hear, thank you so much! I hope that you've had great success!😊
Absolutely brilliant! Great work!
Thank you very much! Glad you like it!😉
Sempre molto creativa, sarà contento il tuo gatto, bravissima, come sempre, ciao😊
Grazie sempre!😺
Hoo boy, the things we do for pets, and especially cats! Great job Lizzie. I really like the x-brace supporting pieces - very satisfying. Thanks a lot for, very enjoyable all the way through.
Yes, the pets...what can I say?! Too bad they are only with for such a short time, all the more reason to spoil them! Thanks for watching as always and I'm glad you enjoyed my cat engineering!😉
Awesome job. Going to try to make something similar.
Thanks very much! Good luck on your carving!😉
Love your work! Thank you!
Thanks so much, I'm glad you approve!😉
Shortening the center blocks is absolutely brilliant. Saves a ton of expensive wood and lightens the whole thing up. ABSOLUTELY doing this when I make mine.
You're the first person to comment on that...I'm glad you agree! Thanks so much for the great comment and good luck on your build!
very well done i like! greets from germany
Thank you very much! I am happy that you like him ☺️
Cost of materials?
Wanted to know BF of each to re-create
At the time a few years ago, it was more than $700, including the legs. I am certain with the crazy inflation we are all having to cope with, it has to be much more. Using a more affordable wood choice would obviously make it more cost effective, but I chose these woods for durability and cohesive use around food. Thanks for asking!
Hello this is Frank from Montana , I sure hope everything is OK. Haven't heard from you in a while. Again hope everything is ok. Miss your work........
You are so thoughtful, thank you for checking in! As it turns out, I have been quite busy with family obligations and had to put my creative fun aside for a short while. I assure you that I am quite well and will be back in action within a few weeks. I also miss my work!☺️
@@myambitiousart thank you for your response young lady ! I miss what you do , and I am GLAD everything is OK.. FRANK FROM SNOW COVERED MONTANA.......
Beautiful!
Thank you kindly!😉
Kill the music. It's terrible and distracting, serves NO purpose.
My apologies! I have many regrets in that music choice, but still can't figure out how to delete it. I do hope you liked the project though!
Very impressive. <3 Great job.
Thanks very much, glad you like it!😊
Really beautiful and I love your command of all your power tools and saws/sanders! Great to meet you this week!
Thank you kindly, Rene! It was a pleasure to meet you as well!😊
Very nice! Can't wait to try it. I wonder you could frame a mirror with a similar technic?
Thanks very much! I never thought about a mirror, but I suppose it's possible. I would love to see that!😉
Very clever.
Thank you so much! 😉
Oh, he turned out great! 💯 I love that this is your first chainsaw carving. So cute! 🥰 Excellent job! I would recommend chainsaw chaps or pants, eye protection, and steel toe boots. I started Dremel carving last year, and I fell in love with it. I have slowly been building up my power carving tools so I can do bigger carvings. And I just bought my first chainsaw, angle grinder, and straight die grinder. I'm so looking forward to my first chainsaw carve too.😊👍
Thank you so much! I think if I get into chainsaw carving more, those items will be a great investment. He's also not quite done but awaiting better weather to do the finishing work. Appreciate your view and input. Good luck on your future projects!😁
@@myambitiousart Thank you.😊 Best wishes on all your ventures as well. I'd love to see a video of your gnome getting finished. You really did an excellent carve! 👍
I do plan on a video to finish him up proper! Thanks again😉
Excellent I want to try doing that myself I've never cared anything either can you give me hope that I might actually be able to cover something with the chainsaw myself all I got is cut wood for about 30 years
@EdZelmanski thank you! I would say to try it if you have the motivation. Always be careful with chainsaw!!
For your first Chainsaw carving you did fantastic. I have been carving for three years now in Germany, and my big problem is how hard I can be on myself. Love how you just enjoy the process. People are always impressed with the finished work, but I just can't feel good about my carving until the customers are happy. Watching you will make me remember that it is art and I should enjoy this process. Thanks you for that.
I really enjoyed reading your comments, thank you! It should always be about fun and trying new skills. I think so many people are complacent in just staying with what they know and don't want to venture out and that is sad to me. Life is about challenging yourself. If it doesn't work out, try something else but enjoy the process and live to tell a story of how you took the time to learn. Thanks again, I really appreciate your time!😉
Same here! And yes really damn good for your first!
Thanks very much! Everything I pass by him, I get happy!😁
This is a beautiful piece! I’m thinking about in getting into woodworking and I just found your channel, I’m truly impressed. I do hope that you will consider not wearing your watch while woodworking, jewelry and power tools are not a good combination. I would hate to see you have serious injury because your watch got hung up and pull your hand into it.
Thanks very much for your kind words and advice. Both are very much appreciated!😊
Love this!❤
Thank you very much, that makes my heart dance!😁
I'm impressed.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it!😊
how did you make the canvas
I didn't make the canvas fabric. That was bought by the roll.
Very nice. Could you tell me how you attached the legs to the table? I see you used bolts on the legs. Do you just screw those into the outside so far in without going all the way thru?
Thank you☺️ I screwed in those lag bolts enough to go about halfway through the block from the inside. The extra screws that held those skinny braces also went in about halfway through. Hope that makes sense.
I'm kinda slow. Lol. So you drilled about halfway thru the outside, from the inside, right?
Just long enough for the screw to go in, like a deep pilot hole so the wood doesn't split. Continue to turn it until the fit is tight. Make sure the screws are not too long, you wouldn't want those to poke through the outside. Hope this makes sense.
I love it!!!!!
I would still love you if you didn't! Thanks🥰
That's an excellent piece of work Lizzie. I'm always impressed with your command of geometry - fitting the strips between the angled parts would have driven me quite mad! I'm reminded of your Tuscan roof made with corks; that was something else you made look easy. I gasped when you said cutting board so I'm glad to hear you've changed your mind about that. Thanks for showing us yet again, that was most enjoyable.
Glad you are impressed! Trying to find new things to make as always and love the challenge that each new piece brings. Thanks for the kind words!😉
Another awesome project young lady thank you Frank from Montana..
Thanks for tuning in again!😄
@@myambitiousart I always will young lady frank
Do you sell them would love to have one if not too.pricey.
I'm sorry, no I don't. This one was my one and only piece. Thanks for the interest!😉
Exactly what I was looking for. Great job and keep up the good work!
I'm glad! Thanks very much😁
Amazing piece
Thank you so much, glad you like it!😊
Great job! You did wonderful!
Thanks so much! When the weather permits, I hope to give him a good finish 😉
Amazing! My favotite canvas print has been damaged at the edges so I will definitely give this DIY a try! I would love to see nautical or whimsical themed DIY frame vidoes like this!
I am glad this inspired you! Good luck fixing your favorite and thanks for watching!
Awesome idea.😊
Thank you very much! I try to think of different ways of creating my pieces and I'm glad you liked it!😀
What a beautiful rolling pin! I've tried making a few myself, but not as stunning as yours. However, please keep those hands of yours safe on the table saw. I think my blood pressure rose a few points as I watched you making cuts. Please use a cross cut sled of some sort for the initial cut on raw wood -- free-handing it is not only a way to lose your fingers but easily your gut too from kickback. And please use a push stick Check out other safety videos on table saws. There are crazy people who have done experiments to see "what if I..." and the results are mind-blowing. It would be horrible to get hurt. Because who would make your beautiful Ambitious Art? Please stay safe
Thank you very much for the kind words but more for the concern and good advice! I have learned quite a lot since making that piece and am more aware of safety precautions these days. I do appreciate your input very much!😊
