i visited Fawn Lake but it was winter..may end up buying there...very nice
My husband and I are retired and we would like to rent a 1 level townhouse. 2-3 bedrooms. Is there anything like that in Fredericksburg?
My husband and I are thinking about moving from California to Fredericksburg. It's actually better weather and would be cheaper for us LOL.
Thanks for this video. Where..precisely..is the beach at 2:57 in the video..and how do you get there and where do you park?
Very nice♥️TNX!! America without tramp❗
I live in Stafford County. Its ok i guess.
Why is the city not developing? This a problem because everything is in Fredericksburg. Why should I need to drive there to go to a nice restaurant, Costco, movies, etc. This area feels like a small rural town. This is silly because there is nearly 160,000 people living in the county. Make a real downtown in Stafford City and develop the city.
How close is the new VA hospital/clinic?
If you're watching this video and planning on moving to the area, please reconsider. It's already waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too crowded here with all the "beltway bandits" that want to make the big DC bucks and not pay the high cost of homes closer to the city. It doesn't matter what time of day you try and get anywhere in the area traffic totally stinks. Plan on a 20 to 30 minute drive to get anywhere in the area and that's on a weekday. Add a few minutes to that on the weekends when everyone and their brother are out and about. It's definitely not the same as it was back in 1973 when I first moved here and you could drive 555 - 65 mph from Culpepper to the I-95 onramp with no traffic signals. That certainly isn't the case now with every road loaded with traffic lights and drivers glued to their phones in their own little world while they wait on a light and finally realize that the light has changed when it's almost red again so the people behind them have to wait for another cycle. No, we for sure don't need any more residents in the area, if anything, a few thousand need to move away.
Commute to and fro Stafford and DC is the same as to and fro Chantilly reston Herndon or Ashburn to DC.
Lack of good rated Schools and lack of Asian grocery stores like lotte, Costco, and no planet fitness. Why is hh poole and Stafford high so bad rated and what about Rodney Thomson middle and its affiliated highschool of that area? Why is no one pushing the schools to do well?
Hop you don’t have kids
Freddie Burg used to be a nice little Southern town, but thanks to the garbage coming down from DC, there are too many people in the area now, and it’s too built up.
Too crowded, too expensive, traffic is terrible, taxes are high and going up every year.
Too many whites now!
I just came across this video about Caroline County and have to give my opinion. If I could go back to Stafford I would in a heartbeat! There is literally NOTHING out here but woods & open fields. There are zero employment opportunities, no medical centers/hospitals, no choice in dining or groceries. The diversity is almost non existent, no kind of entertainment, it's ridiculously far away from everything. I've seen more churches than anything else around here. I honestly believe this place is for retired Caucasian people
Am looking at relocating from Virginia as I have family in Orange and Charlottesville. Not a fan of the history though I know that is a big part of the charm of the area. Lake Anna looks inviting.
Excellent information, you guys are great, thank you!~👍
Not a pricey HOA at all
Stafford sucks. I grew up there. Even back in the olden days, traffic was a nighmare. My parents found it difficult to make fruends because the adults commuted to DC and had no time for life. No where to shop. Have to go out of the county to work. Not really any sense of community to be proud of.
Get to it.
Stafford is not a good place to live. Its proximity to Route 1 and the 95 highway makes it a pain in the arse especially around rush hour, holidays, or if there is inclement weather or a road accident. Stafford lacks a movie theater. Mom and pop stores have closed down due to high leasing costs.
Thank you for the insights!
@@wheretoliveFredericksburg how is the diversity ? mainly white ? mainly black ?
Don’t move to Hopyard Farms, the HOA is out of control.
Thank you for your insight
As someone who grew up in hopyard farms until age 7, I can confirm a lot of the HOA was strict and showed a little authoritarian control.
You have forgot to mention the rednecks in the city of Fredericksburg. It is a very racist city, and they always want to know of where you are from. The school system also suck because there is a lack of diversity. If you are from a different country, do not move to Fredericksburg.
The schools have a little low ratings- not that means a whole lot, but trying to research are there much kids in this community or more retirement folks?
There are a lot of kids in this neighborhood. Average age of the adult residents is 35-45.
That place is horrible downtown Fredericksburg is all homosexuals a lots of drunks and drugs
Love your videos. How are the property taxes calculated?
Property taxes in Virginia are calculated by multiplying a home's assessed value by the property tax rate. The tax rate varies by jurisdiction. Assessed value is determined by local assessors on regular cycles. By state law, cities are required to reassess every two years and counties every four years
And thank you for the feedback
@@wheretoliveFredericksburg How about for cars?
Cars are often taxed at 90% of retail assessed value. The rate varies greatly by jurisdiction. Usually between $3 and $5 per $100 of the assessed value. I can’t give a more specific answer because it varies so much by locality.
There are way too many people here now🙄
There certainly are a whole lot of people here :)
Too many to even fathom. You see much more on them on major holidays, especially, like Veteran's Day. @@wheretoliveFredericksburg
I am so glad you have this video out! I am going to move there in January from out of state, so I am glad to know that its a great area to move to. Can you do a video about the best places to eat covering each types of food and same with store and events? Thank you! :)
great video! thanks for doing this, I look forward to moving there in 6 days :)
You’re welcome! Well let us say welcome home to Virginia… a bit early but, soon!
moved here Friday, and what a beautiful place! so far definitely living up to the expectations so far. Going to the Ni River Trail this morning :)@@wheretoliveFredericksburg
Thank you!! Very helpful
You are most welcome!
Two and a half minutes into the video, I'm ready to pack my bags 😊💖
I’m glad you found the video helpful! Are you ready to pack to move here or to move away from here? Lol
@@wheretoliveFredericksburg I've seriously been considering moving there, I've been looking around in different areas, I've narrowed it down to, Farmville, Richmond, and Fredericksburg, I have some years to go before I retire, but I want to move before I reach retirement
I live in Virginia and theres nothing wrong
Thank you for your comment. I love Virginia too.
Rent price for 2 bedroom @ this location please
In Leeland station the only 2 bedroom rentals are when someone rents out their basement. When that has happened it’s been around $1800. Full house rentals are usually around $2900.
Moving from South Carolina in January my husband has orders to QuanticoI will miss our weather here😭 I appreciate all your insights!
No doubt! I was in Myrtle Beach in October and it was great. Although I once spent a winter in Parris Island and had a few pretty brutal weather days :). Is there any way we can help you with your transition/move here?
Hello I'm thinking about moving from Maryland/DC area to Virginia. I figure it can't be worse. However, I just don't know. I work fully remote at home now so I think that is a plus. 🤔
Thank you for making me laugh this morning when you said, “I figure it can’t be worse.” lol my personal opinion is that you’ll like it a good bit more here. With that being said, how can we help? What information can help you evaluate your decision?
Why do you want to move from Maryland??
I moved to The Burg (Spotsylvania side) 25 years ago from Long Island and never looked back. The ONLY thing I miss about the island was you were never more than 10 minutes from the water at any given location. Other than that, The Burg is a phenomenal place to live and raise a family.
1. Left out the water problem in Bowling Green. 2. Went quiet on the middle school issue 3. Totally neglected Belmont. 4. On the positive side, there are many jobs coming to Carmel Church. 4.
Thank you for the comment. We can never cover everything in a single video
@@wheretoliveFredericksburg I get it, wasn’t trying to troll. Although leaving out Belmont was significant. Thanks for covering our region.
Hey i grew up in Stafford county back in the 70`s grew up in Aquia Harbour went to Stafford Elementary and Stafford High School ( the old one).
Stafford sure has changed since then! I first came here in the mid 80s and it’s changed a lot since then too.
Highest crime ridden city in all of Virginia!
I knew that Fredericksburg was not the highest crime rate city in Virginia. But I looked it up anyway. # 1 is Portsmouth. Fredericksburg is many places down the list from highest crime rate. That being said, in the city itself property crime rate is definitely higher than the national average, which is something we have mentioned in other videos.
could you do a video going over Cosner's corner and that area specifically? since I am moving there in Dec (ONE MONTH YAY), I would love your insight into the area and what to do
You got it. We will try to do that in the next couple of weeks
Everything is over price, to many taxes , I agree with you about the traffic. That's my opinion. Nice video.
Thank you and you are not alone in your opinions
will be moving to Cosners Corner in December, can't wait!
Awesome! Let us know if we can be of help and welcome to our wonderful city.
Love the videos guys keep it up!👍
Thanks! Will do!
Really glad you guys post frequently like you do, I love to watch y'all's videos👍
Thank you so much for the positive feedback! We really appreciate it. Jeff
If you hate southern people and Virginia why do you want to relocate to King George County Virginia. The Confederate monuments are to honor the dead Confederate soldiers who fought for their homeland not for slavery.
Yeah if you hate Virginia, then it doesn’t matter where in Virginia, you won’t be happy
I had a childhood friend that grew up in the Lee's crossing right at the entrance in like 2007 lol Seeing this brings back so much memories! Id love to move there in the future
Would love to have you in the area! Glad we could help you relive some good memories :)
Time on the road is valuable. You pay for the extra gas and wear and tear on your vehicle.
This is very true
great video! I am watching your videos a lot as I am trying to get acquainted with the area as much as I can likely to move there sometime mid-late fall
Thank you very much. We are here to help, let us know what we can do for you now, and let us know when you are getting close to coming here, so we can help.
Wow, no love for Prince William County.
LOL, sorry. I originally was going to include Prince William, but was trying to keep the video short. and didn't thing I needed to add the +26% cost of living and +60% cost of housing added to the video very much.
@@wheretoliveFredericksburg No worries. But those numbers are definitely frightful. It looks like things have changed a lot in PWC. It was once a very affordable place to live.
@@77jaycube69 yeah, it has changed a lot. I have family who grew up in PWC, and it has changed drastically.
I live in PWC currently, very crowded and way more expensive than Fredericksburg area, but not as expensive as closer in areas like Fairfax Co and Arlington
it's a big reason why I want to go from PWC - > Spotsylvania (Cosner's Corner)@@wheretoliveFredericksburg
I have lived here since 1985.....ITS WAY TOO CROWDED NOW!
A lot of people share that sentiment
