  I'm waiting for the delivery of my Atto3 at the moment and I have a couple of questions I hope you can answer based on your experience, since I'm seeing a lot of noise about faults: have you ever encountered any make malfunction with the car like rear lights, losing power...? What about the post sales network? I hear a lot of complaints about it...

  Hi Alex, the car is excellent if you know how computers work, you will have no problems. Most problems can be fixed by restart. Only problem i have experienced is the charge door not opening. That was easily fixed by unlocking and locking the car. Customer service in Australia does not seem to be that good. But i have not experienced yet. I think you will be very happy with this car.   Who's saying it's an MX5? Best not to name call as well. As we know the MX5 was short on technology. Perhaps the newer models have a bit more tech bling. My 2003 had a single CD player. About as high tech as it got. Lovely car though, but impractical - especially for a 6'1" such as myself. When I said it "reminded" me of the MX5 I owned. It does! Squashy, little storage/boot space, two-seater and convertible. Same as the MX5. Performance, technology and even handling will of course be vastly different. Hopefully Mazda will bring out an EV version of the MX5. They've talked about it.

  Interesting sports car Chris. Definitely for the enthusiast only. Think we’ll stick with the Atto 3 and 2024 M3 LR. Reminds me a little of the 2003 MX5 I owned from new for 2.5 years. Not practical but sure to be fun.

  I don't recommand this basket as it can move around and hit your air AC pipes. Better to get a proper frunk.

  Nice video Chris. My thoughts are that batteries will become more and more efficient and quicker to charge, I don't see any need to increase size to 100kw or beyond. I actually think size will remain around the 60-80kw with better efficiency and less weight. There really isn't any need to be able to travel more than 400-500km in one stint (and safety should dictate a stop much sooner than that, but this leaves a good margin).

  When you point the finger at someone else, there are 3 fingers pointing straight back. I’ve learnt to make such points using a technique my father in law showed me called COMMEND, RECOMMEND, COMMEND. Example COMMEND - you’ve been at this a while mate and I love the passion. RECOMMEND- can I suggest a little ginger in your tea so you can keep the momentum high COMMEND - because you’ve got a good channel here with an interesting topic for an interested audience.   Got one in the mett green ( my first ever EV) , the black isn't my taste 😢 . The interior seat colours for this one are at best , very unimaginative/dull . Must be the what we call in UK the comfort entry level model. Positive point maybe price in your country is it much cheaper than UK as in a currency swap ? My fave things about car is HEY BYD and the rapid pick up compared to my previous ice engine car about 2.5 seconds faster 0-60 mph . Sound system is okay as long as you don't turn up to full volume. Ps the build your dreams on the back which mine has even though a 2024 registration is somewhat cheesy so will be getting removed soon as .

  Hi John, yes it's still lead acid. But i have changed mine to LFP it's been faultless for 6months. I expect it will last 8-10years. Contact me if you want one😀

  Normal colours? Depends on your viewpoint, more boring colours and took away the Red which was the best colour in my opinion never mind the bruise colour interior. Big question does it charge at a v3/4 Supercharger. No Internet, well SIM for it, bit lunacy IMO.

  Youre on the right track with your channel. Some free advice...Speed it up. KZread is best fast and direct. Lose the umms and ahs. I know its hard, but going fast helps. Compare your life with your old car and your BYD. Thats what we who are looking at switching need to know. Tell us how you manage charging and your real world observations... Ground clearance, utlity, performance in the city and on the open road. Servicing. Specialise in the car you have. Cheers

  I am impressed with the Xpeng G6 same size as Tesla model Y, Xpeng G6 is coming to Australia in a few months time the distributor is TrueEv starting off only selling in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane don’t know if they will have a partnership with a dealership or open there own service and sales centres, the reviews of the xoeng G6 in Europe are really good and very quite inside, good insulation, no pricing yet for Australia but it has to be a few thousand cheaper then a Tesla model Y maybe $53,000 or $54,000, I wrote off my BYD ATTO 3 and decided not to get a replacement so I got a payout, I am waiting later this year as more Chinese EVs will come into Australia and decide what to purchase, also seekr X coming might get that

  This is in Blacktown lol I was there today and I test drove the sea lion 6 front wheel model. Hands down one of the best cars I’ve driven in a while. I’m trying to decide between sea lion 6 and model Y.. one thing I liked most about the sea lion is the interior, way better than the model Y it’s bigger too

  Hi Chris, my name is Howard Cairns, a BYD Atto 3 owner and about a month ago I joined in on the 3 way discussion on BYD issues that were discussed on Ian of BYD & Tesla Owners YT page . Discussion concluded that there would be a questionnaire for all to contribute suggestions to BYD for improvements to our BYD Atto3's. I have seen nothing since. I have tried to contact Ian about what happened but no response. Do you know anything? Cheers, Howard
