Definitely getting to the point now where, across many Arriva garages, the old 'Interurban' livery is standing out as rare. Will miss seeing it even though it's obviously good to have the fleet all in the current scheme.

Regarding the BEA Routemaster; Do you happen to know if any of their trailers were preserved or restored and if so would they be road legal now? i.e. were they fitted with appropriate brakes and lights I did a quick search but couldn't find any relevant information.
@astock500019 күн бұрын
Took some searching but at least one trailer was preserved (of the earlier type with tapered sides and tops of the wheels within the body). The most recent photo I can find is from 10 years ago when KGJ601D was being brought out of storage to attend Routemaster 60 - though it appears the bus went alone to that event, the trailer needing a new chassis.

Nicely done in what appears to have been difficult light/shadow conditions. The colours pop when panning from the contre-jour. It does seem rather discomforting to see an Arriva Dart in preservation. That's because I'm old enough to remember when Routemasters were new and flashy.

Thanks! I can remember when Darts of that age were new, but not anything before those. To me it's types which came out during the 2000s that seem strange to see preserved, yet obviously good that there is interest in saving some.

So many different colour buses! Which one to take for traveling within the city? Red or purple? Is there a common payment card for all these buses? I am new to Chelmsford and I am fully confused! Please reply.
@astock5000Ай бұрын
The light purple buses are still in First's old colour scheme, which is gradually being replaced in the area by red (branded as 'Shuttles') for services within the city and green ('Essex Bus') for those which run to other towns. All of these are therefore the same company, and there are tickets which can be used on any of their services either within a zone covering Chelmsford or for their whole network across Essex.
