Baseball hands down. Hand eye coordination, running, throwing, catching, hitting and consistently being aware. In addition you can't have an off day without it being documented and literally affecting your stats and entire career. A few bad days for a baseball player will result in him being sent down. The sheer number of games. The fact that any size person can have these skills means the skills themselves are important. If we're talking straight up cardio, I'd think soccer. Brute force football. Size, speed and endurance then basketball.

This man averaged 16 points, 6 Boards, and 3 assists in the Pac 10 and shot 51% from the Field. He lasted 11 seasons in the NBA so I am going to assume he was also a great attribute to the teams he was on, gave minutes in necessary time, and was a great practice player. His NBA career salary was over $20M in total. On top of it he seems like a good dude.

Scal played at least 10 minutes a game in 8 years of his career. Typical of NBA players not in the top 6 on their team. With New Jersey he played 21 minutes one year. He wasn't a scrub until the end of his 11 year career.

I was at a New Jersey Nets vs Celtics game one time and saw Scalabrine dribbling and showing off his handles on the sideline. That's when I realized how good he was. He's the man.

no doubt i would beat Brian Scalabrine 1v1. he was the cheapest option they could find to meet the 12 man requirement on an overpaid free agent loaded team. i think he just does this youtube goofball 1v1 thing because he needs to feed his ego since it got destroyed the day he entered the league and saw real basketball for the first time. it's obvious he chooses easy victims and likely pays most of them off. anyway, he's slow and low basketball iq and doesnt have a good shot.

If nobody has ever had you play ball on TV, chances are you can’t school a PROFESSIONAL ball player…. Even a “terrible” one. The worst one on the court is still there for a reason….

I think it would be insanely fun to play a game with a current or former NBA guy. Of course I'm not expecting to win the game, and wouldn't talk smack, it would just be really neat.

Maybe it’s the free throws that cause the average Joe’s delusion of NBA grandeur. The average hooper probably could hit a higher FT% than Shaq.

Michael Curry, post playing career (close to 40) showed up for a pick-up, grabbed a team we had just beat 21-5, scored 20 of 21 of his teams points and they beat us, a group of low D1 and D2 or NAIA college players in our mid-twenties, 21-9. NBA players are a whole different level.

I don't think that most of these scrubs have any idea how fast the NBA game is. Most of the time they would not have any idea what happened on any given play till they were able to study the replay in slow motion.

I was a small-college stud in the early 90s who played pickup with all the Orlando Magic players of that era - Nick Anderson, Scott Skiles, Jeff Turner, Anthony Bowie, Donald Royal, Greg Kite, etc. Its not hard to hang tough in a high-level pickup game, BUT ALL THE NBA guys have ANOTHER GEAR that we don't have. Whether or not they choose to use it in pickup is another story.

That's dumb as hell. One on one, there's people out there who have never played professionally who would destroy some NBA players. Good example is some of the dudes in federal prisons, especially putting them against someone like Darius Garland lol. Dude would get his neck broke trying to 1 on 1 someone without refs to save him.

I use to think I could keep up with NBA players. That thought ended quick against a guy, who at the time, was a freshman at the same school. This dude was 6’4 and just huge. I thought, I can stay in front of them. I’m 6’2 and pretty quick. This dude went right by me like I was standing still. No one that big should be that quick. He ended up being the second pick of the draft. Some guy named Jason Kidd. I’ve also played against Rex Walters, who is half Japanese and played in the same J-League. He dominated everyone and made us look like little kids.
