No pfd when fishing alone in a small boat???
Is that the standard mapping that comes on this unit? Looks nice and detailed. Nige
The mapping on the unit is Navionics Relief Shading and no it doesn't come standard with the unit. Here is a link to read up about Relief Shading. www.navionics.com/usa/charts/features/relief-shading Good luck mate.
Do you ever have a problem with tangles with the rig which has the sinker and hook trace tied to the same end of the swivel ???
Very rarely, When I do get a tangle I just put it down to my bait not sitting properly in the water.
🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Ive recently started doing lures at night around brisbane city so im glad you made this vid. Ive caught jew and tailor so far. Under captain cook bridge it gets very dark and the baitfish will do all they can to stay in the lit part. The predators are at the edge of it and feeding quite high in the water column (thats what ive seen on the scope too)
Great info brother 😊
Thanks mate.
Those TT soft Quake vibes are a very popular choice.
Definitely my favourite vibe for a lot of different species.
Great video, thank you. One thing you didn't mention was colours. There are a few options, even a lumo one. What colour is the best?
Thanks mate and sorry about not mention the colour. I like white as it seems to be a good colour for a large variety of saltwater species. It would be interesting to try a lumo one at night.
Can you tell me what that big paddle tail is -it looks to have a great action -wazza
Sorry mate I carn't remember, I bought it a long tome ago.
No Crocs around?
Not on that day thank God.
Spilt Shots?
Yes mate they would work to.
@@Aussie-Fishing Cheers tight lines.👍
If you dont have an electric motor can you get to some of these spots in a bigger boat?
Yes mate you can fish a lot of these spots with a bigger boat and no electric.
Thanks mate, bought a big boat and don't know where to fish yet
cheers again
I wrap solder wire around the hook with a dollop of super glue.
Nice tip thanks mate.
Low tide turn of tide hits is the key, they love that time for some reason, also no noise is also important for mulloway, they spook very easily.
Nice work. I've been doing the same to make my own front weighted weedless hooks for prawn lures (like what comes with Zerek Prawns). I also do the same thing for making chin weights for trolling rigs. It certainly allows you to tailor it for your own desired weights and fishing style!
Great hack 👌
This would be awesome if you can apply it to a paternoster rig
Sorry mate, I didn't think about the 3 way swivel but not a big fan of them
Great video and information 👍. I miss my rock fishing in southern NSW.
That reel sounds so smooth! Can I ask what brand and model ?
The reel i was using in the vid was a Shimano Talica 12. They are a very nice powerful reel.
A great video. thanks for taking the time to put it together. What about size 8 gang hooks???
Thanks mate, I have never tried ganged hooks for Reds but worth a shot. Just make sure they are good quality and strong. Good luck buddy.
I just don’t get how you don’t get caught on the rocks. I went to the seaway and just couldn’t see anywhere that I wouldn’t get stuck on the rocks.
That's fishing, better luck next time.
Yep thats fishing. Try again next week.
Good to see you out and about, love ya videos and hope to see more of them champ😊
Thanks mate plenty more to come.
👍
That drift system works really well. We used to troll live baits behind our 8ft rowing dinghy at night on Lake Mac & did well. Nobody wants to row anymore - LOL ! Got the idea from articles from the late, great Gene Dundon. The hardest thing about jewie fishing these days is getting people to shut up about your spots. Ended a friendship because of that behaviour.
nice tips cheers
Thanks mate.
more good tips ,thankyou
You’re welcome 😊
you were both into good action,I like the tackle talk at the end ,hey i notice you run a lowrance, love to see a vid on using the sounder etc, when you have time, i picked up a 12" lowrance carbon from a mate, thanks again, great work..
Thanks for the idea mate, I will do a basics video on the sounder as soon as I can.
thanks again, good tips
Glad you like them!
great tips👌👌
Thanks a lot
great tips thankyou
You are so welcome!
thanks again for another informative video
My pleasure!
That was one of the best informative video out,im up here at Kurrimine beach, trying to learn about reef fishing, very helpful ,thanks again, ill search and see what others you have👍👍
Thanks mate. I wish you all the best with your reef fishing adventures.
I just dropped my sienna today in the saltwater. I'm so glad I came across your video. Thanks mate. new subscriber here from the Philippines
Welcome aboard!
I used to bolt the chain to the top of my sand anchor, then zip tie it to the bottom of the shaft like you demonstrated. But i found the blades of the sand anchor werent able to freely move past the shaft (the chain blocked it moving on one side). So this then meant setting the anchor in sand only worked only sometimes as the blades werent digging in if it laid on the sand with the chain obstructing the blades. Have you experienced this?
Sorry I haven't had that problem. Maybe try a different size chain or give the chain a little slack between the bolted on and tied ends. Hope this helps, Good luck mate.
Don't know what kind of conditions you Assusies fish over there your bottom structure, but if it's for that sml. boat isn't kind of overkill ? by the way, thanks for your help & the Kiwis, THE HERD !
No mate with the high currents and different types of bottom this set up is perfect, anything less and the anchor would just drag along the bottom.
Hey mate. I'm very new to the game. Was wonder what size hooks you use in the vid. Are they size 5/0 circle hooks? Appreciate any advice cheers 🍻
The hooks in the video are 5/0 octopus hooks, not circles. I run the brand BKK as they are very strong and sharp. Good luck mate.
I have been doing that for years, it has always worked well.
Great video. The Alderney ring/ball is pretty dangerous IMO. I wouldn’t recommend them.
Nice tip 👌 thanks for sharing
You are welcome mate.
Great,can’t wait. Lots to learn.
I like your remark " you get the drift" 😂
