Mono has much better abrasion resistance for same diameter, save the $

I use Yamatoyo, for 14lb and under, I agree the supple is pretty strong and ties good knots. I think I still have some black magic mono supple from when I used to go beach fishig.

Interesting, i have all ways wondered about leaders because i have never used them. I have all ways used maxima ultragreen as it's not to bad with the streach and has lower memory also matches my water colour. Black magic labelling is confusing but a good example. Supple is just plain mono, tough trace is a copolymer, the others are labled flurocarbon. This adds to the confusion because your 'trace' is mostly just a expensive mono. Plenty of abrasion tests showing mono is better than flurocarbon which is strange as thats not what we are sold in advertising. Thicker the better for abrasion resistance, and mono is the thickest. I have been making my own rigs and thought i would spend a little more and get a copolymer. Its really nice lower streach and still supple to tie knots.
