Greetings! Welcome to the channel, here I will be sharing parts of my life while living on the boat.
It has been an adventure getting the boat to where it is now but, has been worth every moment!

Hi! I have the same boat. Have you ever had to access the shower drain? We have a leak onto the floor outside f the shower, and I am trying to see if a new drain might be the fix, but I can't figure out access. Thanks!!
@@victoriagawlik9079 hello! On my 83 I had a very small area to where the shower pan drain was. It was outboard of the port side main stinger. Probably about 6" from the floor. I was able to blindly reach my hand in there to remove the old metal drain and replace and reseal.
@@WJsLifeonaBoat Thanks!! I will give it a try. If it works, I will let you know!
You should have entered this contest!
Cool video ❤
A few of my dock neighbors think they can do that after a long day at party cove.
@@charlesdavenport2543 what's their success rate? Haha
Is that grape flavored vodka I see? That goes well with lemonade...I call it a Carolina Lemonade!
just cut the slot that is holding the cover to remove it from the old trim piece.
Why does no one show how they hook it to the hoist. Seems like a crucial element to the job.
@@jeffreypierce1440 there is a lifting eye on the top of the motor.
@@WJsLifeonaBoat I think people take for granted that to be known.
@@jeffreypierce1440 I suppose so!
I have the same helm, what size nut is it for attaching the steering wheel?
Posted another comment but it disappeared. Worked for me, thanks alot for the great video. Mercedes 2004 E320 base model. Required driver left control module part A2118704626. Got part number by using my VIN number. Fixed my seat that would go forward but not backwards. Since the seat was stuck forward I needed to pull and replug the control module black plug which goes to motor from the back under the seat. That got it to go back one last time so I could get to the front bolts. Front bolts were still hard to get out because seat doesn't go back enough. Rear bolts were easy. Plug and play, no programming.
Awesome video
Thanks!
Thank you!! I love that sound!! The 8V92TA is one my favorite Detroit Diesels!!
Great job!!!!!
You did a great job cleaning and buffing the hull. How many days did it take before your arms and shoulders started to feel normal?
Did about two "half days' on the boat buffing. After the 4 or 5 days out on the hard. It took a few days to recover.
What was the size of your top hatches? I seen the video of you replacing them, but I can’t find a cheep place to find the top hatches
Not sure what your definition of cheap is... The small ones are about $600, the large one was about $850. Those were the best prices I could find and that was a couple years ago. They're probably even more expensive now.
I'll go back in my records when I have a chance, to get the sizes.
That would be a life saver 🎉 thank you for all the helpful videos! Your silverton is spectacular!! Hopefully mine will look as nice one day
@@austinallen8658 Bomar 900 Series is what I used. The 966 model, 16-7/8 x 16-7/8 cutout. Then the larger of the three, 995 was 19-3/4 x 19/3/4 cutout.
🎉🎉 🎉🎉 thanks a ton!
WRONG! If you have the SBC brake system you MUST either deactivate the system or remove the negative off the battery & leave the doors closed. If you don't the brake pistons can kill you!
What type of oil is that?
Yamaha Gear Lube
So I have the same ram K19 and a hynautic 50 helm upper and lower and have purchased the Smart pump V2 with the reactor 40 and a GHC 20. Waiting on delivery. What fittings come from garmin to help with install. What will I need to buy to hook up the steering areas to hydraulic hoses. Your video does show you with the fittings but how many will IO need and do you have links to what you bought. Thanks for the good video.
The Tee fittings are 1/4" NPT "Run Tees" where there is one male fitting and two female fittings, those came from McMaster Carr, part number 50785K222. I ordered the 1/4" NPT to 3/8" tube fittings from West Marine part Number SEASTAR-HF5528. The hose is HT5100. The ferrules (tube nuts) are HF5526 from West Marine as well.
Nice job!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Why do you skip over all the parts where it shows you removing the large plastic piece and putting it back on? That's the important part to show.
I love the way you make your videos with the time lapse. Thank you sir
Awesome! Thank you!
Just had mine done and they still smoke after driving. Is this normal? Thanks
I'd say no, it shouldn't smoke.
Nice work.
Thanks!
I just bought a Silverton 34c 1988. I don't know what I'm doing lol I want to rip up the carpet and take out the sleeves and inserts in the main cabin and v birth for more room. You wouldn't want to do a KZread collaboration and help me would you? I'm located in Northern Virginia. That way you can get content for your channel and do a tutorial while educating and helping me!! I can't move in till I get the nasty carpets up and sanitize the V Birth. Thanks WJ ! Holly
Might be tough to travel up that way. But I can answer as many questions as I can!
Did you end up figuring it out. My stepper motor is going full throttle when I turn it off and staying like that so It won’t restart unless I manually push the throttle back
I replaced it and that seemed to work for me. Also check your choke cable. That's popped off before.
getting ready to try and tackle this job this weekend. hoping it ends up being as easy as you’ve made it look.
My alarm never worked since i bought car when i lock on key fob light just light up. No sound so i guess buy this siren 2004 e320 4matic anything else ypu think? What fuse? What relay? Should i check first?
It's typically the siren... But you can check your fuses too
so the thing is, the alarm siren CAN blow a fuse, meaning you’ll have to replace both a fuse and the alarm siren.
Why did you replace the thermostat?
As part of normal maintenance.
Wow! That car looked so good for the age and miles. Shawn must be one lucky friend! Great video can’t wait for the next one.
It sure feels good to help somebody out that really needs it. We just gave my wife's Journey to her sister 3 weeks ago.
Do we necessarily have to change the battery because it wears out over time?
Yes.
I removed the fuses for the seats but it still drains the battery, do I need to change the battery which is 4 months old or is there some other problem
Thanks
Nice job!
Thanks!!
Does this apply to an old 350 for vortec heads?
I believe so, yes.
Line wrenches are a good tool to keep on hand. Looking good though !!
Yes they are
Very informative Video. Thanks. May I know if it is on the back passenger side or the front Driver or passenger side? Please respond. Thank you again.
Driver Front.
Where was this?
Friends in Poquoson, really close to the marina.
Beyond excited for Part 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6 and maybe even a 7
I miss this boat. Taylor took me for a long ride on it with my dad to get the engines moving. The engine room was pristine
It's been a great boat for us!
I knew all that
Looking forward to Part 2. I upgraded my Sea Ray's electronics from Raymarine to Garmin. We kept the Raymarine autopilot but I can't get it to follow a course. It will follow just going direct to a waypoint but will not follow say Auto Routing.
Strange. I've got all Garmin on my boat. And I thought about getting the Raymarine set up. But I wanted to keep all the branding the same.
For Garmin auto route to work it must be garmin to garmin.Your raymarine will follow a manually created course if networked in either 0183 or N2K
@@Mark-rg2mp I am pretty sure it is 0183. When I purchased the chartplotter they told me it would work with the Raymarine Autopilot because they spoke the same language. That is why I kept it. Darn.
Thank you for this video. I fixed this on my car. Many thanks to you.
You're welcome!
Music is terrible too. This video is nothing like my 2006 E350.
I think that’s my problem. Can I get by pulling the fuse or the harnesses until I replace the module?
Yes, you can pull the fuse to stop the battery drain.
WJ, so do you run the flush when you’re back at the marina and the boat isn’t running? And is the water simply pushed upward into the risers from the manifolds to exit out the exhaust system? Great video and concept! Thank you!!
That's correct. With the engine not running, the raw water pump is acting like a "block" and the water being pushed into the bottom of the manifold has no choice but to go up the riser, into the elbow, and spill over into the exhaust piping, then out of the boat.
@@WJsLifeonaBoat Thank you SO much, WJ, for the video and the walkthrough. Great concept, and thank you for sharing it. Love the channel!
@@user-nf1iy9br2m no problem, thanks! Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already!
What’s her cruise and top speed?

@@WJsLifeonaBoat thanks! What was fuel burn at cruise? 50ish gph
@@sgrasmick82 I think we're closer to 60-65gph
Shows hours only after install right?
That's correct.
This vid save my ass. Haines said to pull the fan shroud, it is hydraulic. It took longer to pull the upper mounting bolts than to remove the alternator.
Glad that it helped!
Glade to she's getting used!! Was it a relative that bought her? Sorry to be nosey!
Our family purchased Miracle from the Cockrell's in late 2021.
So much for the lake being "smooth as glass" today.
Just some small waves!
You did not show anything. You not good at this are you
Thank you!!
Now this was an undertaking! Do you live aboard? I think it looks great.
Haha it was fun! 🤣 Yeah, I stay on the boat a lot, it's fun! Thanks, I appreciate it!
@@WJsLifeonaBoat I stay on my boat a lot in the summer. This year I am installing a new air conditioner and new canvas. The only thing I miss on this boat is the separate shower stall.
@@jetlag4754 that's something I wish I had. I see a 42C in my future at some point... Idk how many years but, that's the next goal.
