Hi Anjela, I'm very new at dotting and it has become an obsession. I want to have the sphere in your video, but it's not in your Amazon store. Please tell me where I can find it. Thank you so much.
@@amandaji4466 Hi 👋 We can definitely help you with this. Send me a message on Etsy and I will create you a custom order. Thanks Anjela happydottingcompany.etsy.com
Hello! Do you have a link I could use to purchase Hydrocal? And perhaps a list of supplies for a beginner to casting?
Please message me via Etsy and I can send you some casting powder information. Thank you, Anjela 😊 happydottingcompany.etsy.com
I love these. So pretty 💕
Hi, I bought some of the gel to thicken up my paint but when I make a dot, it ends up being pointed and not nice and puffy. How do I get puffy dots???
There’s particular drops for puffy dots eg Nuvo drops that are straight from the bottle. However when using your own paint mix you really have to layer (load up each dot) and work the dot into a perfect shape eg with a stylus. It’s not easy and certainly don’t recommend for beginners. Watching @artofpoints you’ll see what I mean 😊
@@HappyDottingCompany thank you very much!
I have the larger dotting tools that are slightly rounded on the ends and it's hard to make a nice dot. Should the larger tools be rounded or flat on the end?
I consistently hear people have poor results with large tools that are rounded on the ends - they were actually developed for clay modelling - but are now sold for dotting by sellers that have never painted a dot.
What do you use inside the mold? Plaster? Cement?
Can be either - please see our other KZread video - How to make Art Stones Including Hints and Tips, Happy Dotting Company
Love it, i got mine
Is there going to be a rubber line maker?
I can’t wait to receive mine. End of the week I’m hoping. Yay. Thank you so much. 👍😀💜
Like the piece you made to show your demonstration! Do you actually sale those, would like to have one like that beauty 😍...
Hi, I don't sell finished products/art peices - only supplies to make dot mandala art. www.etsy.com/shop/HappyDottingCompany
@@HappyDottingCompany Thanks 😊
Exactly why I haven’t tried canvas. I really don’t like the look. It will be interesting once reviews start coming in on your new product.
There’s no need product. This is just a suggestion for smoothing out the texture on canvas.
If you could put the sizes of the sorting tools down that would be most helpful 😊❤Thank you
Great tips Anjela! That's why I haven't done that many canvases. I'll have to give that a go next time. 💞🙏😃👍
Let me know if you think it works well. 😊
@@HappyDottingCompany will do! 💞🙏🙂🤗
I got some dotting stencils but I still don't understand how to use them and various designs to create. Where do I start?
Hi Nancy, It depends what dotting stencils you mean. To be honest many stencils that are advertised as dotting stencils by different sellers don't do this art and the stencils aren't much benefit. I know @Fairmaidenmarket uses a lot of stencils so you may want to look at her website or social media channels.
Can I ask what tool you're using to make the large dots (the center, etc.)? Also what surface are you painting? How do you apply this to irregularly shaped rocks?
Hi, it's our 10mm blue rod from our basic dotting tool set or the 10.0 is the same size in our Superset of dotting tools. Both available via our Etsy shop. www.etsy.com/shop/HappyDottingCompany Thank you, Anjela 😊
Hallelujah!!! I just bought these paint palettes this afternoon. Thank you!!!!!!!!
Woww absolutely gorgeous 👏
it is gorgeous but she stopped after the walking the dots on the 3rd line and jumps to a totally different mandala thats not the same, grrrr i was doing it as she was now bam nothing to finish that one
Love the tips but would like to know if you have these two patterns available? thanks
Not this one but there's a beginner "Carnival" one in my Etsy shop. www.etsy.com/shop/HappyDottingCompany Thank you, Anjela 😊
Been doing this for years. Works great! Silicone paint trays - brilliant idea and will use!!!
Hi Anjela, where did you get those silicone paint pallets? I’ve searched Amazon to no avail. Thx
I make them and they're only available in our Etsy shop at the moment. Thanks, Anjela. www.etsy.com/shop/HappyDottingCompany
Totally agree Anjela. These silicone paint pallets are great. I too use to use the paint pots but like you I discovered I was wasting a lot of paint. That’s what lead me to the paint pallets. Thx for the container tip to keep the paint moist.
So great! Thanks for all you do for the community!
Excellent, so very pleased you have released these on your site, they are a brilliant idea. After recently searching the internet with minimal luck, I reluctantly purchased a very small one from overseas with stupid a postage price. Now I can have a choice of descent sizes with a descent price and postage. Well done again Anjela, thanks so much.
You're welcome Karen, thank you! Anjela 😊
Thank you 😊
Don't know if you have it in Australia, but Press 'n' Seal is wonderful to keep paint palettes from drying out.
That’s what I use!
Yeah we have it but it's very expensive as it comes via USA and another throw-away plastic.
I love these paint trays. It's great how the paint just pops out after it has dried. I often thought about creating a mixed media project using these dried out circles of paint. Hmm, maybe I'll get around to it. Anyway, thank you Angela for this great product.
That's a great idea Kathleen! Thank you, Anjela 😊
What is the black paint you use as a base coat??
Just regular acrylic paint - I don't recommend any particular brand. 😊
Hello, can you please tell me what’s equivalent to ultracal 30 in the UK to make the rocks in your moulds?
I have heard that these products are available in the UK and work well. - Crystacast or Herculite Stone
@@HappyDottingCompany thank you so much! I have your measurement for ultracal 30 sheet it came with my moulds when I downloaded from your Etsy shop. I’m wondering if it’s the same with these UK products?
You're welcome. Unfortunately, the measurements/ratios are unlikely to be the same - but I don't know. 😟 @@thegreenwoodhub1279
Hello, Anjela. What type paint do you use for the background? Any tips on how to avoid brush marks?
I just use acrylic paint - (no particular brand) for the background colour. If you getting heavily textured brush marks you could try thinning your paint with some water (give a couple of coats if necessary) or use a finer bristled brush if you think the bristles are very coarse or stiff. I wouldn't be too fussy about the background as any art you put on top will hide the background.
When are you going to add some more of your videos? They are so good 😊 and worth watching.
I’ve been meaning to for a long time. I need to make it a priority 😘
@@HappyDottingCompany definitely 👍
These tools are the best! I have tried a few being a beginner and I find these make everything so much easier. Trust an Aussie to make something that works perfectly😊. Well done from another Aussie! ❤️❤️👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Thank you, Anjela 😊
Hello, I just bought 3 Happy Dotting Company molds and I made my first mandala stones using UltraCal 30. My question is, can I use Portland cement in these molds? Has anyone tried it? I’m thinking, if I used Portland cement they would be more durable. I think they would come out of the molds just fine but on the other hand I don’t want to ruin the molds I just bought. So if anyone has tried Portland cement with their molds let me know how it went. Thank you.
Hi! Many people use a range of different products including cement based ones. I don't know if Portland cement exactly has been used. You may find a comment on this in the pinned post on our FB page which is about casting. 😊
LOVELY THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME
Your work is beautiful 💕
Can I use dimensional magic on acrylic paints for sealing
Sorry I don't know - I don't have any experience with that product. Thank you, Anjela
do you let the paint dry between applying the second dot of balck paint? Thank you
Yes you do 👍
Looking forward to purchasing one! Thank you, Angela!
This has to be one of the best tutorial videos I’ve seen for beginners. Well done!
Thank you Michelle. 😊
What’s the diameter of the test tube? Where can order more from Amazon, do you have a link please? Thank you
It's 12mm diameter. Sorry I don't know an Amazon site that sells that size. If you message me on Etsy I can create a custom order for some. Thank you, Anjela 😊 www.etsy.com/shop/HappyDottingCompany
@@HappyDottingCompany I just recently made 3 orders from your store. I’m gathering all the tools such as rasps to file down the rocks base, I ordered ultracal 30, I bought acrylic paints, and I have some dotting tools as well. I’m teaching dot painting workshops using your tealight candle, pen holder and rock moulds as soon as the orders arrive from your shop. I’m really looking forward to teach my participants! I think the pen holder with a glass test tube with a flower in it would make a beautiful mother days workshop for dot painting! Also the tea candle light mould in heart shape would be perfect for a Valentines workshop as well! Thank you for your help!
Nice 👍🏾
Thank you...most helpful & you make it easy to follow...
Hhow to use dotting stencils Foor your desiģnx❤
Merci beaucoup pour tous ces conseils.
De rien. Apprécier :)
Thanks for the info! I'm going to try this on some diamond painting coasters and key chains I want to deal before gifting.
I'm not sure you'll find it glossy enough for that purpose - but good luck! 😊
Is there a PDF that accompanies this tutorial? I tried to find it on your sight under downloads but this ones isn't there.
It's in our Etsy site shop. www.etsy.com/shop/HappyDottingCompany Thank you, Anjela 😊
I'm looking to make a large mold for an art project. Is there anyone who will discuss this with me?
Making a large mold or large casting? Feel free to send us an email [email protected]
It's really very beautiful. What is the material /mixture used to make the stone ?
Hi, I'll attach some information below. “What powder do I buy to make the Art Stones?” PLEASE SEE KZread kzread.info/dash/bejne/ka57zrNtl6Saes4.html What mix you use depends on your location and what you have available. Many different casting plasters work well. I like using Ultracal 30. Unfortunately, in some places it can be hard to get or expensive. Please note there is a downloadable data sheet on my website with the mixing quantities for Ultracal 30 for each mold and stone dimensions (the same ratios work for Perfect Cast). www.happydottingcompany.com Some alternative casting plasters include - USA/Canada - Perfect Cast, Rapid set Mortar mix from Home depot, Quikrete, Mapei, Dental Stone powder, Hydrocal powders, In the UK - Crystacast or Herculite Stone, In Aust and NZ. I buy my Ultracal 30 from Barnes (a shop in Woolloongabba, Brisbane) - I believe they have other outlets. Another option is Dental plaster by Gyprock (by special order from Bunnings) or Casting Plaster by Gyprock from Bunnings. Mitre 10 and other hardware stores probably have similar products too. Sometimes these products only come in big bags but then it’s very economical. Regards, Anjela
Grazie per il video! Vorrei sapere se è possibile acquistare solo le cupole di silicone...
sì, tramite il nostro negozio Etsy. www.etsy.com/shop/HappyDottingCompany
@@HappyDottingCompany Grazie!
Thank you for this. I was so scared to get started. Your instructions are awesome and thank you for the sheet on how much to use. I order my molds from your company through Amazon because I could get them faster😊.
How much molding powder should we put in the mold? I filled mine all the way to the top. I think my stone is way to high.
I recommend not completely filling molds - leaving the level slightly below the rim will result in a cleaner bottom of the casting. Thank you, Anjela 😊
