"The nazis were literally burning books, what are we doing right now, we're not burning books yet but someone suggested we should look at books through another lense which is like burning books so the liberals want to burn books like the nazis, let's not talk about how republicans are banning books they don't like but that's good"

As someone that constantly worries about being a sociopat (I'm not, just obsessive).... I hate this. Sociopaths are people. I kbow a diagnosed psychopath, and he's a decent, chill guy. Stop demonizing people with antisocial tendencies.

The moment I knew this was probably not going to be good was when I saw a peaceful monk getting lit on fire in graphic detail. It just felt edgy and dark for the sake of it becusse its live action. The original animation had this perfect balance of levity and seriousness to it that suits the kind of adventure story it was telling. And the reason why is because it was a product designed for children or teens first and the adult consumer was ancillary. The overall child friendly tone the original had made the actual dark moments like Aang discovering Gyatso's corpse more impactful and memoriable for the viewer. The problem with the live action remake is it clearly wasnt a product meant for kids it was meant to capture overly nostalgic adult melenials dollars first and foremost. And it creates this awful dissonance with the overall tone of the show which has a cast of child characters at the end of the day. This simply to me isnt the right story to tell using live action in the avatar universe. A spin off in the same universe scoped with live action and a darker adult loom and tone from the concept phase forward would have been a better use of resources.

we make the distinction because one of them is tied to eating and surviving, while the other leads to basically nothing at all, if not being detrimental to your physical health (i think i remember hearing about ppl dying because of doing that stuff). whatever your belief about not eating meat is, it's in our instinct as omnivores to like, eat meat in order to live. idk it's fucked up that it's even a question to begin with like bruh

21:44 Because those beliefs are ingrained in his mind, and it takes honest effort as well as the introduction of new ideas in order to get those beliefs out of his system. I can relate; I was raised extremely conservative, so I grew up with a LOT of ingrained beliefs that I eventually realized on a base level were either hateful or just plain wrong. It still took a lot of years get them out of my head, and there are still remnants which I have to consciously tune out. Acknowledging the problem is only the first step to fixing it, but this guy _wanted_ to have his mind changed by someone, and that someone massively failed him.

When you put it into words it is effective on the imagination. Minnesota us an inherently corrupt state like any in this world. The best we can do is vote blue and send the fascists off to the farm to spend their days as living examples. Society can look upon them and see who they are, what they've done and where they end up. Remember the victims -never forget the victims.

big joel: what do you think of the upcoming lion king prequel.. it would be a nice video to follow up on the commentary for the animated sequel and live remake you’ve done As the movie, where mufasa is an orphan and scar is the blood soon, seems to attempt to flip the script on the original’s message..

I love how you describe Shrek, i could never put it into words but i absolutely adore how it just says fuck you to destiny and the vague idea of "special" people. As a child who never felt special, in fact probably felt a bit worse, it really jived with me on a personal level.

Misa simping for Light as hard as she does is one thing, but what I don't get is why not one, but TWO Shinigami, simp for HER just as hard. I honestly find the character of Rem to be more annoying than Misa. Misa may have been an annoying character, but she was annoying in a way that made sense, she's a human being and some human beings are dumb and annoying. Rem has no understandable motivation for acting the way she does, it feels like she only exists because the writers needed a reason that Light couldn't just kill Misa immediately. She's a GOD OF DEATH, what is so special to her about this girl who just acts vapid and annoying all the time? Why does she like Misa and dislike Light? Neither of them are GOOD people, they're both selfish and don't seem to lose a wink of sleep over murdering people with a Death Note, and Shinigami in general don't seem to care much about the idea of good or evil anyway. And also, if Rem cares so much about Misa, it's kind of weird that she would even tell her about the eye deal, you'd think she wouldn't want Misa to know that she has the option to to give up half her lifespan.

Watching this got me to finally dive into the original Avatar. I'm on the final season and holy hell the live action one just butchers the source material. It's not even "Taking it in a new direction" it feels like it was hate-written out of spite of the first show.

Live action adaptations exist to make money off of people who woulnt otherwise even touch an animated series in the first place and those who will consume anything with a familiar logo on it. They do a massive disservice by completely removing an artstyle that makes the series recognizeable and replaces it with people doing their best impressions of these beloved characters. Theress nothing gained from these things as this is only a trend to make a few more dollars on franchises the copyright holders coulnt give any shits about.

I just found this video, and I just wanted to say thank you for putting this information out there. I saw the DOJ's report on this matter and was disappointed that it got no coverage. The issues with the MPD are just a fraction of the issues affecting the entire city of Minneapolis. However, I am grateful that you took the time to spread awareness about the corruption that has plagued the residents of Minneapolis.

I realize now the reason people dislike Mat's content is because they believe he is a media interpretation channel, he's not. Theories like mario is the bad guy or sans is nes or similar theories in the vain of shock value, they're very clearly made to entertain, not interpret. Matt's said it himself with the mario theory when looking back on it, OBVIOUSLY mario isn't the bad guy, he saves the kingdom, saves the princess, but did you ever notice he punches yoshi? Or what about the fact that the bricks znd question blocks are cannonically toads turned into blocks, everytime he breaks a block he kills a toad. That's a bad interpretation of mario, because its not meant to be an interpretation, its the stretching of several evidence points to build a different conclusion than the one presented in the film. Sometimes the film/ game lures you in with that false truth and only in those cases is Game Theory usually right.
