You can actually see the Lurtz's actor actually flinched when he realized he threw it straight to Viggo's face which thankfully, Viggo managed to deflect.

"When you do things right, people wont be sure youve done anything at all" -the universe, futurama. Its a great quote that perfectly encapsulates this moment. Aragon (and many other characters in this movie) played their roles so well that you no longer see the actor, you see the character as they are

This combat exchange is still one of the most intense scenes I've ever seen on film. Every part of it was believable and every exchange was expertly captured with the right angle and the fact that both actors were probably tired af from multiple takes enhanced the realism with how tired they looked moving around.

A prop is a term to describe a moveable item on set. They can have prop guns on set which are metal, they're still props though

what can you say, they actually found him. Viggo is straightup the real deal, an actual ranger and my king for sure. Absolutely mind blowing that we dodged a reality with another Aragorn by like the tiniest fraction. No shame on whoever they had first, I'm sure they would have given it everything but I think Viggo was recast as Aragorn like a week before the first Aragorn scenes had to be shot because whoever else they had was looking too young. If I recall correctly they even shifted the schedule around to do as much non Aragorn as possible to give him time to train with the sword a bit.

Fun fact: the actor playing the uru'kai is a profesional stuntman and did this several times without makeup, when they did the make up it was so thic he literally could not see and that's why he ends up throwing the knife right at Aragorn...

it's cool but I don't think the props guys or the stunt coordinators would ever allow a director to use a metal prop knife for throwing, even if it's dulled or supposed to miss
