The full phrase I keep repeating is “the Israeli government AND THEIR SUPPORTERS” the “and their supporters” portion of that phrase that your selective hearing deleted is referring to the United States government and anyone else who supports the Israeli government. Yeah but there was a rise in global antisemitism long before Oct 7th. Antisemitism has been rising in Right Wing spaces for years now - during the entire Trump Presidency. This is not due to Israel, even if Israel's actions have contributed to the rise of antisemitism in Left Wing spaces. Generally this leaves a lot of Jewish people feeling antisemitism from both the Left and the Right. It absolutely does not compare to the horrendous Israeli war crimes, but we need to be able to spot it and condemn it when it pops up.

I mean, Jesus Christ, some trite super hero movie put it simply, “with great power, comes great responsibility.” Or how about, “might does not make right” (main theme in the Arthurian tale, Once and Future King). Or real Jesus Christ shit for all those “Christians” out there, “do to others as you would have them do to you”? The struggle between power and justice is as old as human reason. The Weak demand Justice because of its objective promise to seek truth and equity. But the Empowered set justice aside because that which does not enhance their dominion is a potential threat to that power - first and foremost is justice that would temper their violent methods.
