    Definitely going to steal this and repeat it as my own when this comes up with friends. I'm having a really hard time not being furious all the time while living through a second holocaust amidst people who are completely unaware and complicit, even, in their deliberate unawareness, and this cracked me up. The followup you give to the comments is exactly what i'm talking about being angry all the time. I hate how disingenuous it is

    Do you know how to tell the difference between a terrorist organization and a professional army? A professional army wears uniforms that are designed to blend in with their natural surroundings, like the earth, rocks, plants, trees, etc. A terrorist, on the other hand, wears clothing designed to blend in with the local population. Do you ever hear stories about Ukrainian soldiers accidentally killing innocent people because they can't tell the difference between Russian soldiers and Ukrainian civilians? No. No, you don't. Why? Because, say what you will about Russian soldiers, at least they're not trying to blend in with the local population. For their part, Ukrainian soldiers have gone to GREAT lengths to try to NOT appear as civilians, because the LAST thing they want to do is put civilians in harm's way. Hamas, on the other hand, doesn't give a shit about Palestinian civilians. They dress like them and hide among them because they WANT Israeli solders to kill them, because it creates international sympathy for their cause, and puts pressure on the Israeli government to back off. It's their only chance of winning this war. And judging by ignorant videos like this, their plan is working beautifully! It's also worth mentioning that ahead of every major military operation in this war, the Israeli army has ordered civilian evacuations of the area. They don't leave because Hamas won't let them. Proof of that is in the fact that, despite the prior warning and evacuation orders, the civilian death toll remains disturbingly high.

    @caffetiel All too well. I was in the Marine Corps in Afghanistan. I've seen it up close. What's your point? If your point is to somehow excuse Hamas's lack of effort towards distinguishing themselves from the civilians they hide amongst, that's fine, I guess. Just understand that that's literally a war crime, and by excusing that, you're acknowledging that the blood of Palestinian civilians is on the hands of Hamas, not Israel. In that case, I'd applaud the fact that you're at least honest with yourself and others about who is truly to blame here.

    if people are complaining often about the poor analogies you're making enough for it to even become a trend, chances are its not because your average viewer is stupid, but you're consistently having bad takes. only common denominator in this situation seems to be you. just saying. yes, it is in fact within the realm of possibility that you can make a bad comparison. the adult thing to do is apologize & improve instead of accusing your viewers of being stupid.

  • @yourpal_austin

    This is so funny, because it’s the literal opposite. The vast majority of people who watch my analogies have no problem understanding them. It’s always only a small handful of people in the comments who struggle. But the overwhelming majority totally get it. So if your logic is that I must be making bad analogies if so many people are having a hard time understanding them, then by your own logic my analogies are actually great because most people have absolutely no problem understanding. The only common denominator in the situation is that some people are just really dense.

    This is a pretty terrible analogy. You just oversimplified it into a way that supports how you feel about the conflict. Here, I'll fix it for you, Hey, remember when I moved in 80 years ago and Craig tried to murder my family? Luckily, we were able to defend ourselves. Then remember how Craig spent all of his time living next to me telling me and my family how his whole reason for living is to kill us. Fun, right? (I didn't think so either). Thankfully, my family has a powerful friend that lives a couple streets down, that said he will help defend us. If it weren't for that powerful friend, our family would probably be long dead because all of our closest neighbors are like Craig. Hey, remember how the WHOLE neighborhood felt bad for Craig, because Craig's children were suffering, and gave Craig billions of dollars in aid and assistance to fix problems and end the suffering? Remember how Craig instead of using that money to make home improvements and improve his children's quality of life, Craig used the money and assistance for more weapons to continue trying to kill my family? Remember, also how after DECADES of living next to Craig, a person that consistently told the neighborhood his family wants nothing more to kill my family, Craig recently broke into my house and killed my sister and kidnapped my grandmother? The whole situation sucks! Hamas started a war. War is horrible. People die and suffer, that's why war sucks. While I do not support the killing of innocent people, I understand Israel. Imagine there was a Native American reservation that lived in the next county. Imagine they were hostile to you, and all their propaganda was about killing you. Imagine they taught their children you were evil. Imagine they went so far as to teach their literal young children the best ways to kill you. Then every few decades that reservation attacked your town and killed your friends and loved ones.

    @@mahrimen I encourage you to actually put effort into looking this up for youself using sources other than the Israeli state government. Things like the Balfour document, and why they call it the nakba in the first place. Imagine you're ordered to move out of your home by exhausted soldiers, ready to be done with a world war. you can comply or be shot, and then they spit on you and call you second class citizens. Entire families, murdered. It was a mass displacement of one minority group in favor of another and it was violent as hell. it wasnt moving day with your buds and a pizza with a 6 pack. They were forcibly displaced through no fault of their own. Its violent settler colonialism, plain and simple. The 75 years of violent occupation and second class citizenship in what is commonly acknowledged as the worlds largest open air prison have been a brutality and created predictable sentiments among other groups in the region. I cant even begin to properly sum this up in a youtube reply, you should really spend time in good faith looking into this.

  • @mahrimen

    @mahrimen

    Ай бұрын

    @@SurrealEdifice Thats truly terrible. From what I understand there was violence from both sides, but as usual it was a bloody start to a new nation. The Palestinians do not wish to peacefully coexist, they never have. There will never be peace as long as Palestinians hate jews more than they love their children. Israel on the other hand have over 2 million Palestian citizens living with them. Israel will also allow in gay Palastinians that seek sanctuary because in Palestine they are thrown off of roofs for being gay (queers for Palestine is like chickens for KFC). What a beautiful culture, right? I assume you condemn what Hamas did last October. It also seems like you are saying you understand why they did it, when you mention the history of the conflict with Israel. Well, I understand Israels reaction, Im not saying its right, but I understand. (I watched uncut video from the Oct attack right after it happened, it was sickening. Some images that will stick with me and made me very angry) But whats the answer here? All the Jews just leave? Go where? There used to be Jews in other middle eastern countries but not really anymore. Talk about ethnic cleansing. We dont care about those Jews though. But really the Palestinian leadership doesnt want the conflict to end, they get way too much international money. Its just unfortunate that the innocent people of Palestine have to pay the price. Honestly this issue is very complicated for me because I am a progressive but I dont agree with a lot of the progressive takes on this. I understand the desire not to kill innocent Palestinians (of course) and I understand Israel's anger and frustration. Half the time I think I must be wrong and maybe I am and I dont usually talk about it but this video was too stupid. I wont respond anymore but I will read your reply if you have one and consider what you have to say. Hopefully you give some thought to what I have said but if not I still wanted to reply. Also, I can understand being driven from your home violently myself being Native American. If you know anything about American tribal history, and I assume you know something of it, then you know it wasnt moving day with your buds either. Talk about second class citizens.
