Why apply to schools you knew you wouldn’t attend? Why waste the application fee and cause someone else to be waitlisted for a spot you knew you wouldn’t accept? To make these videos? To massage your ego? Honest question.

Because you can never know if you are going to get into a college. I had no serious guidance throughout the process from people who had gone to prestigious schools, so I felt it was necessary to have sufficient backup schools. Everyone who I saw was overly confident ended up not getting into any schools, you have to be smart about it.

i watch this video, and it made me feel so good about my self knowing this guy blew atleast $100,000 on a degree he could have paid 1/10 the price for, if he invest this $100,000 at a conservative rate of 10% a year, in 20 years it would probabily be around $700,000. another suqqer bits the dust.

Ricky, Great video! I have enjoyed watching your video. It is very helpful to me! I am graduating with my AA degree from a 2-year college this semester. I have been studying at a 2-year college within 7 years. I was always a part time college student. During my senior year of high school, I was about to study computer specialist as getting my AAS degree. Due to my lower scores on the ACCUPLACER placement test for reading and writing, I had switched from computer specialist as getting my AAS degree to management as getting my technical diploma. I have took English courses as transitional courses and I took my first college level course for math as my management major which is called foundations of math because I had a high score on my arithmetic ACCUPLACER placement test. Also, I took an ACT in my senior year. I got a 16 on my math, and I got a 14 on my reading. They did accept my ACT scores from high school. However, I had to take ACCUPLACER placement tests for reading, writing, arithmetic, and elementary algebra from a 2-year college. I had to couple more months to start college. I graduated from high school with a 3.7/4 as my overall grade point average. It was back in the spring of 2016. I started college in the fall of 2016. When I moved from state to state at another 2-year college, I had to take the placement test again for reading, writing, and elementary algebra. I had to take English and math courses for development all over again. Later on, I took college courses for math and English at a 2-year college. I had switched from management as getting technical diploma to liberal arts as getting my AA degree. I have been working on my AA degree at a 2-year college within 6 years. After I complete with my AA degree in Liberal Arts, I will train for acting in the studio. Then, I will be working on my BA degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communications from a 4-year college within 3-4 years. My dream career is to be a journalist and actor. I have been taking theatre and journalism courses at a 2-year college. It was not too long ago. It was during the pandemic and endemic. My college as overall grade point average is a 3.1/4. I was in the Dean’s List for about several times. I have joined in clubs at a 2-year college for volunteer, business club, and Latin American Student Organization. However, I could not do it that much because I had to focus on my studies. Back in high school, I have joined Teen Center, and Spanish club. As my volunteer job in 11th grade, I was an office assistant at the main office. During the quarantine of COVID, I have been writing my first book which is called my life throughout with autism and being a military child. I am working on my second book for right now. I have worked on it during the day I got COVID. It was this past summer. Once my graduation ceremony is over with, I will include my first book to get published sometime this coming May or June. I will get it announced on KZread as well. You did a great job with your academics and your extracurriculars. That is very impressive! Again, you did a great job with your video too. I was born in the city of Buffalo in New York. I was diagnosed with autism at age 3. It was before going to preschool. I lived there in my early childhood until age 5. I had to travel all over the states because my dad’s military. He is technically my stepdad, but I always call him dad because I grew up with him. I grew up with my Spanish speaking family who are from Colombia and Puerto Rico. My bio parents are from Puerto Rico, and my stepdad is from Colombia. My stepdad is the one in the military. However, I always call him dad because I grew up with him as I said before. I have a younger brother in my mom’s side. I have four younger sisters and one younger brother in my bio dad’s side. Also, I have a nephew in my first younger sister’s side. Wish you are the best of luck at everything you do. My name is Andres by the way. It is pleasure to meet you! God bless you and your family. 🙏

Berkeley is a dream school for many people and so is UChicago. Knowing that, if you have good qualities for your major, not being a test taking genius doesn't take away every chance of getting in makes me think that maybe the admissions process is not as cruel as I thought
